Pro-poor Value of Rural Cooperative Organizations Under Poverty Reduction Perspective

Abstract:Poverty is a social phenomenon accompanied by the process of human development,and cooperative has been seen as an ideal platform to achieve pro-poor and poverty alleviation of poor groups through self-help and mutual help.We can assume that rural cooperative organizations(with farmer specialized cooperatives as the mainstream) provide a highly desirable development path for China's poverty reduction.This paper elaborated the rural cooperative organizations' pro-poor functions in the field of agriculture and rural areas,meanwhile,it explicitly pointed out several misunderstandings of rural cooperative organizations' pro-poor value.
