Abstract:The decay modes B to ππ, ψKS , K D, πK and ηK are promising channels to study the unitarity triangle of the CP violating CKM matrix. In this paper I study the consequences of these measurements in the Weinberg model. I show that using the same set of measurements, the following different mechanisms for CP violation can be distinguished: 1) CP is violated in the CKM sector only; 2) CP is violated spontaneously in the Higgs sector only; And 3) CP is violated in both the CKM and Higgs sectors. Abstract:The CP violating effects in partial - decay - rate asymmetries of the Bd 0 and Bs 0 systems are reestimated with the method of amplitude ratio. We concentrate on those hadronic final states which are CP eigenstates. We find that for testing CP violations, except the well known Bd 0 �� Ks, the best decay is Bd 0 �� D+D-, which needs, for 3�� signature, 2.2 �� 107 bb? pairs.

Abstract:We show that the study of certain observables in the angular distribution in B-->J/psi K* provide a clear test for CP violation beyond the standard model (SM). Abstract:CP asymmetries of B -> phi K and B -> eta((1))K modes are analyzed in the QCD improved factorization framework. The phenomenological parameters are determined from the global fit for the available B PP and VP modes (without the subprocess b -> s (s) over bars). The possible deviation of sin(2 phi(1))phi K-0,eta'K-s from sin(2 phi(1))J/Psi K-s and the large branching ratio for B+/--> eta(1)K(+/-) can be simultaneously explained in the context of R-parity conserving SUGRA models and R-parity violating SUSY models.

Numerically, we find that all the branching ratios and most of the direct CP violations, except ACP(B± → K±π0), agree with the current experimental data with an effective gluon mass mg ≃ 0.5 GeV. Taking the unmatched difference in direct CP violations between B → π0K± and π∓K± decays as a hint of new physics, we perform a model-independent analysis of new physics contributions with a set of (1+γ5)b⊗(1+γ5)q (q=u,d) operators. Detail analyses of the relative impacts of the operators are presented in five cases. Fitting the twelve decay modes, parameter spaces are found generally with nontrivial weak phases. Our results may indicate that both strong phase from annihilation amplitude and new weak phase from new physics are needed to resolve the πK puzzle. To further test the new physics hypothesis, the mixing-induced CP violations in B → π0KS and ρ0KS are discussed and good agreements with the recent experimental data are found.

Abstract:Experimental data on rare $B$-meson decays indicate deviations from Standard Model predictions. In studies of these decays, possible new sources of CP violation are often neglected. We discuss CP violation in the rare $B$-meson decays $B\to K\ell^+\ell^- (\ell = \mu,e)$ and point to two phenomena that arise when new sources of CP violation are included. First, the Wilson coefficients $C_{9\ell}$ and $C_{10\ell}$ become complex, and we show how we can extract their values from measurements of direct and mixing-induced CP asymmetries. Second, new sources of CP violation can generate nontrivial lepton flavour universality violation. Such a violation is usually measured through ratios like $R_K$ and $R_{K^*}$, but we show that measuring only these ratios leaves a large parameter space unexplored. These results bring exciting opportunities to reveal New Physics effects in the high-precision era.

Abstract:Several baryons containing a heavy b-quark have been discovered. The decays of these states provide new platform for testing the standard model (SM). We study CP violation in SM for charmless two-body decays of the flavor SU(3) anti-triplet beauty baryon (b-baryon) B=(Ξb−,Ξb0,Λb0) in a model independent way. We found, in the flavor SU(3) symmetry limit, a set of new predictive relations among the branching ratio Br and CP asymmetry ACP for B decays, such as ACP(Ξb−→K0Ξ−)/ACP(Ξb−→K¯0Σ−)=−Br(Ξb−→K¯0Σ−)/Br(Ξb−→K0Σ−), ACP(Λb0→π−p)/ACP(Ξb0→K−Σ+)=−Br(Ξb0→K−Σ+)τΛb0/Br(Λb0→π−p)τΞb0, and ACP(Λb0→K−p)/ACP(Ξb0→π−Σ+)=−Br(Ξb0→π−Σ+)τΛb0/Br(Λb0→K−p)τΞb0. Future data from LHCb can test these relations and also other relations found.
Theoretical Highlights of CP Violation in $B$ Decays

Abstract:In this presentation, we discuss recent key topics in theoretical analyses of CP violation in benchmarks decays of the $B$ meson. We provide the most updated values of the mixing phases and discuss the importance of including the penguin contributions in their studies. Exploring intriguing patterns in purely tree decays, interesting new methodologies can be developed and applied. New data related to the CP asymmetries of key modes like $B^0_d \to \pi^0 K_S$ and $B^0_s \to K^+ K^-$ lead to interesting results. The new $R_{K^{(*)}}$ measurement, compatible with the Standard Model, can still allow for electron-muon symmetry violation through new sources of CP violation.

Abstract:We study CP violation in b-baryon decays of Ξb−→Ξ−D with D=D0,D ̄0 and Di(i=1,2). We find that these baryonic decay processes provide an ideal opportunity to measure the weak phase due to the absence of the relative strong phase. Explicitly, we relate ρ ̄ and η ̄ the CKM elements with the decay rate ratios of Ri=Γ(Ξb−→Ξ−Di)/Γ(Ξb−→Ξ−D0) without the charge conjugate states. As a complementary, we also examine the decay distributions of Λb→Λ(→pπ−)D. There are in total 32 decay observables, which can be parameterized by 9 real parameters, allowing the experiments to extract the angle γ≡arg⁡(−VudVub⁎/VcdVcb⁎) in the CKM unitarity triangle. In addition, the feasibilities of the experimental measurements are discussed. We find that ρ ̄ and η ̄ can be extracted at LHCb Run3 from Ξb−→Ξ−D, and a full analysis of Λb→Λ(→pπ−)D is available at LHCb Run4.

Abstract:Based on the low-energy effective Hamiltonian with the generalized factorization, we calculate the new physics contributions to the branching ratios of the two-body charmless hadronic decays of $B_u$ and $B_d$ mesons induced by the new gluonic and electroweak charged-Higgs penguin diagrams in the general two-Higgs doublet models (models I, II and III). Within the considered parameter space, we find that: (a) the new physics effects from new gluonic penguin diagrams strongly dominate over those from the new $\gamma$- and $Z^0$- penguin diagrams; (b) in models I and II, new physics contributions to most studied B meson decay channels are rather small in size: from -15% to 20%; (c) in model III, however, the new physics enhancements to the penguin-dominated decay modes can be significant, $\sim (30 -200)%$, and therefore are measurable in forthcoming high precision B experiments; (d) the new physics enhancements to ratios ${\cal B}(B \to K \etap)$ are significant in model III, $\sim (35 -70)%$, and hence provide a simple and plausible new physics interpretation for the observed unexpectedly large $B \to K \etap $ decay rates; (e) the theoretical predictions for ${\cal B}(B \to K^+ \pi)$ and ${\cal B}(B \to K^0 \pi^+)$ in model III are still consistent with the data within $2\sigma$ errors; (f) the significant new physics enhancements to the branching ratios of $B \to K^0 \pi^0, K^* \eta, K^{*+} \pi^-, K^+ \phi, K^{*0} \omega, K^{*+} \phi$ and $K^{*0} \phi$ decays are helpful to improve the agreement between the data and the theoretical predictions; (g) the theoretical predictions of ${\cal B}(B \to PP, PV, VV)$ in the 2HDM's are generally consistent with experimental measurements and upper limits ($90% C.L.$)

Abstract:This is a quick review of CP non-conservation in $B$ physics. Several methods are described for testing the Kobayashi-Maskawa single phase origin of CP violation in B decays, pointing out some limitations due to hadronic uncertainties. Abstract:Supersymmetric models with nonuniversal down type squark masses can enrich the chiral structure and CP violating phenomena in $b\to s\gamma$ decays. Direct CP violation in $b\to s \gamma$, mixing induced CP violation in radiative $B_{d,s}$ decays (such as $B_s\to \phi \gamma$ and $B_d \to K^*_{1,2}\gamma$), and $\Lambda$ polarization in $\Lambda_b \to \Lambda \gamma$ can be substantially different from the Standard Model. Future experiements at $e^+ e^-$ and hadronic B factories will give important information on the underlying theory for radiative $b$ decays.
