Abstract:This article briefly introduced the accreditation standards and guidelines for Pharma. D. in America and highlighted the curricular standards. Abstract:Accreditation of medical education is of great importance in guaranteeing the quality of medical education.After implementing accreditation of medical education for more than twenty years,the Australian Medical Council has gradually formed a mature accreditation system.Therefore,this paper,in the light of the history and status quo of accreditation in Australia,analyses the problems that the accreditation of medical education in China encounters in the beginning and developing process,and puts forward some preliminary suggestions.

Abstract:In the present work,we aimed to describe the current situation and developing trend of professional Master of pharmacy education in China.Systematic searches of websites for literatures related to the specialty of professional Master of pharmacy were conducted.E-mail or telephone inquires were made directly to 108 pharmacy institutions(schools and universities)in China offering the MPharm program.The MPharm program was established in China in 2010,which primarily focuses on cultivating professionals in fields,such as drug technology transformation,inspection and regulation of drugs,registration and distribution of drugs,and pharmaceutical services.After 9 years of development,it has almost completed the overall design of its higher education paradigm with Chinese characteristics.With the rapid development of the pharmaceutical industry in China,the professional degree of pharmacy education program at the master's level is insufficient to meet social and market demand for qualified professionals.Therefore,doctoral-level programs are now being promoted.
Credentialing of foreign clinical pharmacists and its revelation for China

Abstract:With the development of clinical pharmacy, the number of clinical pharmacists is increasing. Credentialing of clinical pharmacists is an important guarantee for the sustainable development of clinical pharmacy. This article analyzed and summarized the characteristics of credentialing system in the United States, Japan and Australia, which credentialing organizations, methods and contents are highly abundant, various and long-historic, and have well representative and referring value. The system of certification in China should be built as soon as possible. It should be implemented with easy specialties, and with difficult ones afterwards in pharmacy practice. The number of credentialing organizations should be appropriate and each specialty there should not overlap in different organizations.

Abstract:The first-phase third-party accreditation conducted by the Japan Accreditation Board for Pharmaceutical Education between FY 2013 and 2019 revealed various issues regarding current pharmacy education programs. In addition, the report of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's Study Group on the Training and Quality Improvement of Pharmacists, which was published in 2021, identified a broad range of issues in pharmaceutical education related to pharmacist training and quality improvement. Many of these issues are concerned with university curricula; thus, in order to ensure and enhance the quality of pharmaceutical education and develop pharmaceutical human resources that society demands, it is extremely important for each university to improve its curricula. Since revision of the model core curriculum for pharmaceutical education is currently underway, in this symposium, we held a discussion to identify points that need to be improved regarding the current model core curriculum to ensure and enhance the quality of pharmaceutical education in light of the above-mentioned issues, and incorporate the corresponding measures into the basic policy for revision of the model core curriculum.
American accreditation on graduate medical education and its inspiration

Abstract:Graduate medical education system in China is constantly improving. However, there is still a gap to the international standards. International accreditation is regarded as an effective approach to promote homogeneous outcome of medical education. This paper is to introduce the basic information, organization, procedures and standards of Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-International (ACGME-I) accreditation in the United States. Combined with the importantance of ACGME-I accreditation, it may facilitate the improvment of competence-oriented graduate medical education and construction of an accreditation system based on the existing problems of post-graduate medical education in China. Finally, the challenges in the certification process are summarized.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE: To analyze and compare the curriculum and delivery of a Chinese and Australian university-level Chinese medicine program.METHODS: A review of PubMed and the Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure for relevant educational papers was undertaken. Online and paper documents available at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (CDUTCM) were read and analyzed. In addition, in-depth interviews with academics from the two universities were conducted during 2014 to 2015.RESULTS: The two Chinese medicine programs share the common goal of providing health services to the local community, but differ in some aspects when the curricula are compared. Areas such as student profile, curriculum structure, teaching approaches and education quality assurance were found to be different. The UTS program adopts a "flipped learning" approach with the use of educational technology aiming at improving learning outcomes. On the other hand, the CDUTCM has better clinical facilities and specialist physician resources.CONCLUSION: A better understanding of the different curricula and approaches to Chinese medicine education will facilitate student learning and educational outcomes.

Abstract:World-class universities are important bases of inheriting and bequeathing excellent ethnic culture and windows for promoting advanced international cultural communication.With the high development in medicine and medical research in China,higher education in pharmacy has made great achievements.Pharmaceutical education keeps making progress through exploring in terms of both curriculum system and talents cultivation mode.International communication and cooperative experiences are becoming an important aspect for pharmacy students' development.In recent years,the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Zhejiang University has been exploring and practising in wide ranges of international academic communications centering on post-graduate students.Some valuable experiences and achievements are summarized.

Abstract:As an external review mechanism, accreditation has played a positive global role in quality assurance and promotion of educational reform. Accreditation systems for medical education have been developed in more than 100 countries including China. In the past decade, Chinese standards for basic medical education have been issued together with guidelines for accrediting medical schools, an accreditation committee system has been established, a cohort of assessors has been trained, and a first round of accreditation visits has commenced. Although the national accreditation system in China is now operating within a legal framework as a voluntary process, the system needs further improvements to ensure sustainability and recognition by the international community. To fulfill the objective of completing the first round of medical education accreditation nationwide by 2020, more qualified assessors have to be trained, present policies and processes must be refined, and incentives must be developed to encourage all schools to undergo accreditation.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To explore the development trend of the American pharmacy education and provide reference for development of Chinese pharmacy education by analyzing American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy Strategic Plan.METHODS Adopting the methods of literature research and analysis of induction based on text,the article studies the development trend of American pharmaceutical education.RESULTS The development trend of the American pharmacy education could be summarized following 6 aspects:maintaining the applicant pipeline,creating a new portrait of pharmacists and pharmacy careers,transformation of innovative pharmacy education and practice,paying more attention to the role of information technology in pharmacy education,displaying the leadership and collaboration role of AACP,showing the pharmacy value and sustaining development by advocacy.CONCLUSION China pharmacy education should strengthen the study of mission and vision,attach great importance to the quality of students and reform and innovation of education teaching,shape pharmaceutical professional image by advocacy and show the leadership and collaboration role of industry associations.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE: To describe the current status and developing trend of clinical pharmacy education in China.METHODS: Descriptive analysis of data and information about the clinical pharmacy specialty, pharmacy colleges, and curriculum from literature, college websites, and statistics from the Ministry of Health (MOH) and Ministry of Education (MOE) websites was conducted.RESULTS: Clinical pharmacy programs were established in China in 1989 but developed more fully after 2006. In 2012, there were 30 pharmacy colleges with clinical pharmacy undergraduate programs, which included a bachelor's degree in clinical pharmacy and a clinical pharmacy concentration within the BS programs of pharmacy or medicine. More than 40 colleges within the university system offer 4 types of master's degree programs in clinical pharmacy. Five universities offer a PhD program in clinical pharmacy. Three postgraduate programs exist, which train hospital pharmacists and clinical pharmacists: the 3+2 year Hospital Pharmacist Standardized Training Program at Peking hospitals; the 1-year Clinical Pharmacist Training Program sponsored by the MOH; and the 2-year Clinical Pharmacist Residency Program provided by West China Hospital at Sichuan University.CONCLUSION: A growing clinical pharmacy education system has been established and has become an important subfield in Chinese pharmacy education. Measures should be taken to further promote the development of clinical pharmacy education in China.

Abstract:Pharmacy education has undergone for one hundred years in China.Beiyang Military Medical was founded in 1902,and the pharmacy department was established to admit pharmacy students with 3 years school system in 1908,seeing the beginning of the pharmacy education in China.The Beiyang Medical was moved and renamed as National Defense Medical College in the following decades.There were about twenty schools or departments of pharmacy in China before 1949.The pharmacy education has developed rapidly since 1949 in China,especially in recent decade,the number of pharmacy departments and the enrollment scale have risen rapidly,and large numbers of pharmaceutical qualified personnel has been cultivated.This paper reviewed the history of the pharmacy educaton in China,to provide useful information.

Abstract:The initiation of Master of Pharmacy program has provided an opportunity for the development of the current clinical pharmacy graduate education in China,while the systematization and standardization of the current curriculum system is of the first importance.This article focused on the curriculum of the clinical pharmacy graduate education of our school.First,a system of the professional knowledge which is essential for graduate education was established,which clarified the target of the curriculum design.Under the guidance of this system,the current curriculum design was analyzed and evaluated through a contrast with 3 American pharmacy program and a questionnaire to the graduates of our school in multi-years.At last the advantage and weakness of the curriculum were pointed out,and several valuable advices on developing the master of pharmacy program were provided.

Abstract:Objective To analyze the research status of advanced pharmaceutical education in China between 2004-2013,so as to provide a reference for educators and administrators to understand the status and to promote the development.Methods Using the bibliometrics to analyze the research of advanced pharmaceutical education in the recent decade, including the annual distribution of literature, the distribution of researchers,the main journals which published the literature,the basic information of authors and the situation of funds.Results The research of advanced pharmaceutical education expanded gradually and received increasing attention.However,it was insufficient in depth,which focused on teaching discussion and practical training,and lacked in macro studies.The journal that contained the most related papers was Pharmaceutical Education ,followed by Northwest Medical Education .Of the 48 core-authors,the maximum number of papers with first authorship was 7.The distribution of teaching researchers was not wide;but research institutions were distributed regularly,and first authors were mainly in Jiangsu,Guangdong,Zhejiang and Shanghai.Research projects were mainly supported by colonel-level funds.Conclusion It was proposed that research scope be broadened using longitudinal study, study be conducted on academic journals to standardize format,a stable core-author team be cultivated to encourage more teaching researchers, and an incentive system be established to absorb advanced researchers.In addition,more higher-rank funds should be set up to increase investment in advanced pharmaceutical education.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To provide reference for improving the curriculum system for Master of Pharmacy in the field of industrial pharmacy.METHODS:The method of comparative study was adopted to analyze the situation of curriculum system for Master of Pharmacy in the field of industrial pharmacy in 9 domestic universities of "985 Project".Based on it,reform idea and measures of the curriculum system for Master of Pharmacy in the field of industrial pharmacy in our university.RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS:There were some problems in curriculum system for Master of Pharmacy in the field of industrial pharmacy,such as positioning of curriculum system was unclear;many courses of Master of Pharmacy were same as the Academic Master of Pharmacy or Master of Pharmaceutical Engineering;vocational training knowledge course was merely nominal;practical curriculum lacked.Pharmacy college of our university reformed curriculum system for master of pharmacy in the field of industrial pharmacy in respects of independence and practicality.The cultivation target was repositioned,which was different from Academic Master of Pharmacy.The existing courses were hackled on the basis of the principle of "utilizing current curriculum fully and rationally".The professional knowledge training courses and practical courses.Teaching methods had been innovated.After reform,graduate school employment rate increased year by year.
