Abstract:We report on theoretical calculations and analyses of the hyperfine structures in the spectra of the Cs-2 3(3)Sigma(+)(g) state observed by Li et al by infrared-infrared (IR-IR) double resonance spectroscopy in 2008. For this purpose, we consider the excitation-de-excitation schemes in their entirety, taking into account the mixed character of the intermediate levels of the A(1)Sigma(+)(u) similar to b(3)Pi(Omega u), system, which generally contains contributions from all Omega = 0, 1, 2 basis states. We also avoid an approximation for the strongest features in the spectra (the major component), in which the probabilities of optical dipole transitions are computed from 0-th order state vectors alone. We compute the contributions from all components of the mixed states. The fundamental theory and algorithms are described, the parameters of the chosen model are fitted and reported, and the results of the simulation are presented. (C) 2020 Elsevier Ltd. Theoretical potential energy curves of the 2Δg3 and bΠu3 states have been determined in the framework of the pseudopotential method and are compared with the experimental results.

Abstract:Totally 1195 transitions into the K2 41Σg+ v=2−36, J=1−85 ro-vibrational levels have been observed by infrared–infrared double resonance spectroscopy. Spin–orbit interaction between the 41Σg+ state and the 23ΠgΩ=0+ state has been observed. Molecular constants, RKR potential curve, and spin–orbit interaction matrix element have been determined from the analysis of the experimental data.

Abstract:Accurately known energy level structure of the Cs2 A1Σu+−b3Πu complex of states from a recent global de-perturbation of these states has enabled additional assignments of 140 perturbation facilitated infrared-infrared double resonance (PFIIDR) transitions to the 23Δ1g state from collisionally populated intermediate A1Σu+ levels. Together with the 221 previously observed 23Δ1g←A1Σu+←X1Σg+ double resonance lines [J. Chem. Phys. 128, 204313 (2008)], molecular constants and the Rydberg-Klein-Rees potential energy curve of the 23Δ1g state have been recalculated (excluding 54 perturbed levels). The centrifugal distortion constant has been determined and agrees well with the value calculated based on standard empirical formulas. The hyperfine structure of the 23Δg state, which has not resolved in our sub-Doppler excitation spectra of the 23Δ1g state, has been interpreted with a preliminary simulation.

Abstract:The (39)K(2) 2 (3)Sigma(g) (+) state has been observed by perturbation-facilitated infrared-infrared double resonance spectroscopy and two-photon excitation. Resolved fluorescence spectra into the a (3)Sigma(u) (+) state have been recorded. The observed vibrational levels have been assigned as the v=23-25, 27, 28, 31-33, 38-45, 47, and 53 levels by comparing the observed and calculated spectra of the 2 (3)Sigma(g) (+)-->a (3)Sigma(u) (+) transitions. Molecular constants have been obtained using a global fitting procedure with a comprehensive set of experimental data. Fine and hyperfine splittings have been resolved in the excitation spectra. Perturbations between the 2 (3)Sigma(g) (+) and 2 (3)Pi(g) states were observed. The hyperfine patterns of the 2 (3)Sigma(g) (+) levels are strongly affected by the perturbation. The perturbation-free and weakly perturbed levels follow the case b(betaS) coupling scheme, while the perturbed levels follow case b(beta J) coupling. A Fermi contact constant, b(F)=65+/-10 MHz, has been obtained. Intensity anomalies of rotational lines appeared both in the 2 (3)Sigma(g) (+) approximately 2 (3)Pi(g)a (3)Sigma(u) (+) resolved fluorescence spectra. These intensity anomalies can be explained in terms of a quantum-mechanical interference effect.

Abstract:The K2392Πg3 state has been observed by perturbation facilitated infrared-infrared double resonance and two-photon excitations. The vibrational numbering of the 2Πg3 levels was determined by resolved fluorescence into the bound levels as well as to the continuum of the aΣu+3 state. The rotational assignment of the 2Πg3 levels excited by two-photon transitions was determined from excitation frequencies and resolved fluorescence into the bound levels of the aΣu+3 and bΠu3 states. Molecular constants obtained from these observed levels agree with theoretical constants.

Abstract:One color two-photon 33Σg+←b3Πu∼A1Σu+←X1Σg+ transitions of Cs2 observed earlier [9] have been assigned: the upper state levels span the range of the vibrational and rotational quantum numbers v=2∼9 and N=25∼248. The potential function of the 33Σg+ state in a version of a deformed ab initio potential has been determined from the term values of these levels. The reliability of this potential is confirmed by simulations of the spectra of resolved fluorescence and by comparing with the Rydberg–Klein–Rees potential obtained from an alternative set of data in [13].

Abstract:We report on new observations of the photoassociation spectroscopy of ultracold cesium molecules using a highly sensitive detection technique and a combined analysis with all observed electronic states. The technique is achieved by directly modulating the frequency of the trapping lasers of a magneto-optical trap. New observations of the Cs2 0g−, 0u+, and 1g states at the asymptotes 6S1/2 + 6P1/2 and 6S1/2 + 6P3/2 are reported. The spectral range is extended to the red detuning of 112 cm−1 below the 6S1/2 + 6P3/2 dissociation limit. Dozens of vibrational levels of the ultracold Cs2 0g−, 0u+, and 1g states are observed for the first time. The available experimental binding energies of these states are analyzed simultaneously in a framework of the generalized LeRoy–Bernstein theory and the almost degenerate perturbation theory by Marinescu and Dalgarno [Phys. Rev. A: At., Mol., Opt. Phys. 52, 311 (1995)]. The unique atomic-related parameter c3 governing the dispersion forces of all the molecular states is estimated as (10.29 ± 0.05) a.u.

Abstract:We report photoassociation (PA) of ultracold Na and Cs atoms in a dual-species magneto-optical trap. Trap loss spectroscopy of the ultracold polar NaCs molecules formed by PA, which carries information about relative PA transition strengths, has been experimentally obtained by using highly sensitive modulation spectroscopy technique. The fine and hyperfine effects at near-dissociation levels of NaCs molecular $c\phantom{\rule{0.16em}{0ex}}^{3}\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Sigma}}^{+}$ state are observed and modeled. The interaction Hamiltonian is described in terms of the Hund's case ($a$) coupling scheme. The molecular hyperfine structure of near-dissociation levels is simulated within a simplified model of four interacting vibrational levels belonging to different initially unperturbed electronic states. The results of the simulation infer that the interaction parameters of the observed near-dissociation levels are close to the asymptotic parameters of the pair of atoms. The coupling of the electronic states is essential for forming the hyperfine structure.

Abstract:In this paper we demonstrate the existence of above-quantum-step quasibound states in ${\mathrm{G}\mathrm{a}\mathrm{A}\mathrm{s}/\mathrm{A}\mathrm{l}}_{0.24}{\mathrm{Ga}}_{0.76}\mathrm{A}\mathrm{s}/\mathrm{v}\mathrm{a}\mathrm{c}\mathrm{u}\mathrm{u}\mathrm{m}$ double heterostructures using a modulated photoreflection spectroscopy technique at room temperature. A series of clearly resolved structures was found in the spectra. Their energy positions agree well with those of transitions between quasibound states in the state density of the heteorostructure. Further envelope wave-function analysis indicates that these quasibound states mainly center in the ${\mathrm{G}\mathrm{a}\mathrm{A}\mathrm{s}/\mathrm{A}\mathrm{l}}_{0.24}{\mathrm{Ga}}_{0.76}\mathrm{As}$ quantum-step region, and are found to be affected by the limited length of electron coherence.

Abstract:Twenty-one vibrational levels, v=8, 9, 11–27, 29, and 30, of the 39K2 1 3Δg state have been observed by perturbation facilitated infrared–infrared double resonance fluorescence excitation spectroscopy. The 1 3Δg state exhibits a case (a) coupling in the low-J limit and evolves rapidly to case (b) coupling as J increases. A spin–orbit constant, A=−0.365cm−1, which is obtained from the observed term values, agrees well with the prediction from the value of the K atom 3d spin–orbit splitting. Molecular constants and the RKR potential curve agree well with theoretical results.

Abstract:The hyperfine structure (hfs) of Cs 7P 1/2 state is measured utilizing four-level active optical clock. Combing the Doppler effect and the active stimulated emission, the accuracy of Cs 7P 1/2 hfs is expected to be optimized. The correction terms of experimental results, such as cavity-pulling effect, light shift and collision shift, are analyzed. Such a scheme can be widely extended to other alkali-metal atoms to enrich the measurements of hfs.

Resolved fluorescence into bound levels and the continuum of the a(3)Sigma(+)(u) state has been recorded with a monochromator/photomultiplier detection system.
