Abstract:Objective To study the rules of the patients' temperature fluctuations in 72 hours after abdomen surgical operation, analyze the correlations between abnormal temperature and postoperative complications, and summarize the available measures for temperature monitor and nursing intervention. Methods From January 2004 to December 2009,700 patients treated by abdomen surgical operation were selected randomly. All the patients' nursing data of temperature were analyzed retrospectively before and after operation. The temperature trend and distribution plots in 700 patients were drawn and statistically analyzed between abnormal temperature and postoperative complications. Results The fluctuating temperature in 72 hours had a significant difference(P<0.01).Compared with temperature before operation, the patients' temperature descended greatly when entering ward [(35.74±0.71) ℃ vs(36.57±0.39) ℃,P<0.01] and 426(60.9%) patients had hypothermia.8 hours and 12 hours after surgery, the proportions of feverish patients(>37.5 ℃) were highest,17.7% and 21.3% respectively.72 hours after surgery,641(91.6%) patients' temperatures were normal,21(3.0%) patients were<35℃,and 38(5.4%) patients were>37.5℃.Compared with the normal temperature patients, the hypothermia and feverish patients had significant difference in days of ICU treatment, incision infection rate, pulmonary infection rate, and arrhythmia rate(P<0.01),but had no statistical difference in time of mechanical ventilation and hepatic dysfunction rat(P>0.05).Conclusion The patients' temperature changes greatly after abdomen surgical operation and the ratio of hypothermia and feverish patients is high.Abnormal temperature is associated with postoperative complications. To avoid bad effects on recovery, temperature monitor should be strengthened and effective nursing management should be applied for the patients.
