Abstract:The emergence of new entrepreneurial phenomena of university-wide entrepreneurship education(UEE) is not only the requirement for the diversification of entrepreneurial talents of times,but also the proper choice for the internal transformation of higher educational institutions.Based on the cross-campus resources,UEE has covered the students from all disciplines which aims to cultivate students'entrepreneurial spirit and entrepreneurial competences.Different stages of the development of UEE have different characteristics.Nowadays,many innovative approaches of UEE have been explored in the developed countries.In order to promote the development of UEE in China,the issues as the orientation of UEE,the educators,the education carriers as well as the perfection of the evaluation of UEE should be further clarified.

Abstract:Cultivating university students' entrepreneurial skills has become a worldwide common interest. Taking Zhejiang Province, China as a case, this paper firstly analyses the push and the pull forces of cultivating innovative and entrepreneurial talents. Then the contents of Zhejiang's entrepreneurship policy for university students are systematically elaborated. This research makes a conclusion that though more and more university students have chosen an entrepreneurial career because of the impact of entrepreneurship policy, the fragmentation of policy and the lack of university students' experience have to a great extent hindered the realisation of entrepreneurial activities. Further efforts should be made to better disseminate the policy and effectively put the policies into effect.

Abstract:The entrepreneurship education in Chinese higher institutions has accumulated some experience after ten years of development.However,compared with the great demands of the social economic in China,the development of entrepreneurship education still lags far behind.University students have weak entrepreneurship intention and ability,and also lack entrepreneurship knowledge.Therefore,entrepreneurship education in Chinese higher education institutions should adopt the development idea featuring "concept guidance,classification construction and system guarantee",and establish tridimensional entrepreneurship educational outlook,pay special attention to the construction of teacher team and curriculum which are the two core links,as well as establish the supporting system to promote the optimum development of entrepreneurship education.

Abstract:In the past two decades, entrepreneurship education programs (EEPs) in China have witnessed a tremendous development driven by both government policies and student demands. However, very limited study has been conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of EEPs in China. Based on the previous research studies, this study constructed a four-factor conceptual framework to evaluate students’ perception about the design and implementation of EEPs, as well as students’ perception about their impact on the promotion of entrepreneurship knowledge and competence, the possibilities of venture creation in future and the inclination of entrepreneurial behaviors. One hundred and seventy-seven students taking part in EEPs of three universities from Zhejiang Province were investigated. The result showed that: (1) most students gave an eclectic evaluation of EEPs; (2) Students’ evaluation of EEPs in three universities differed significantly on three factors, namely Competence Promotion (F = 25.811, p < 0.001***), Possibilities of Venture Creation (F = 23.652, p < 0.001***) and Inclination of Entrepreneurial Behaviors (F = 14.977, p < 0.001***); and (3) the demographic factors affected students’ subjective evaluation of EEPs.

Abstract:Entrepreneurship education has a close bearing on social and economic progress. In recent years, there is a strong wave of technological revolution induced by mobile Internet, later government giving rise to related policies that encourage innovation and entrepreneurship. However, Chinese universities are still remaining in a stage of exploring and developing time that entrepreneurship education nurtures social and economic development, which we call Entrepreneurship education 1.0 phase. This study proposes the concept of Entrepreneurship Education 2.0. Based on the large-scale survey of innovation and entrepreneurship at Stanford University (2012), it analyses the experience and inspiration of Stanford leading global pioneer in Entrepreneurship Education 2.0 phase from three aspects including sources, institutional guarantee and social and economic influence of entrepreneurship education for the purpose of strategically improving the recognition of entrepreneurship education’s contribution to society and economy and taking measures for Chinese universities to step into Entrepreneurship education 2.0.

Abstract:The development model of entrepreneurship education (EE) in China is a typical representation of a government-driven model, and those policies unveiled by the central party and government authorities make big differences. Since 1998, central and local governments have introduced multiple policies promoting the development of entrepreneurship education in China. On the whole, EE policies in China have been increasing year by year, especially after Premier Li Keqiang put forward the slogan of “mass entrepreneurship and innovation” in September 2014 at the Summer Davos. EE policies in China have resulted in explosive growth and directly raised an entrepreneurship wave across the country.

The core of this article sums up the content of national policies on entrepreneurship education and analyses the initial successes and problems in implementing these policies. Some suggestions for entrepreneurship education in mainland China are proposed in this article.

Abstract:This book review introduces Marta Peris-Ortiz, Jaime Alonso Gómez, José M. Merigó-Lindahl, and Carlos Rueda-Armengot’s book entitled Entrepreneurial universities: exploring the academic and innovative dimensions of entrepreneurship in higher education. Entrepreneurship is an expression of the talent of human creation, and the concept of the entrepreneurial university is the most well-articulated item in the evolution of the university towards the requirements of the knowledge-based society. However, two main questions are still under-explored: what are the core features of entrepreneurial universities, and what kind of activities related to innovation and entrepreneurship does arise in academic setting? The book can be grouped into three main sections: one concerns the entrepreneurial education of students provided by entrepreneurial university; the sections confirm the entrepreneurial initiatives and activities of entrepreneurial universities, which contribute to innovation and technology transfer; and those involve entrepreneurial research in academic setting. The book explores the institutional aspects of entrepreneurship activities to establish entrepreneurial universities. The defect of this book is the slightly lack of longitudinal study and secondary data in entrepreneurial intention and orientation research.

Abstract:Research shows that entrepreneurial activities significantly promote economic development, which enhances the importance of the innovative entrepreneurial potential of college students. This study analyzes the effect of entrepreneurship education on entrepreneurial intention from the perspective of planned behavior theory. By examining the significant role of entrepreneurship education at colleges and universities on economic and social development, we established a conceptual model. To understand the relationship between entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial intention, the hypotheses propose the intermediary role of entrepreneurial ability, and the study provides evidence from China the relationship between entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial intention. Improving entrepreneurial intention and encouraging college students to establish businesses through entrepreneurship education in universities is crucial. This study proposes a hypothetical model of the relationship between entrepreneurial competence and entrepreneurial intention in entrepreneurship education at universities. Using a questionnaire survey of college students with practical experience in the Yangtze River Delta of China, the bootstrap method in the SPSS macro program process software verifies the hypotheses. The results show that entrepreneurial teaching, business plan competition, and entrepreneurial practice support positively affect entrepreneurial competence. In addition, entrepreneurial competence plays an intermediary role in the relationship between entrepreneurial teaching, business plan competition, entrepreneurship practice support, and entrepreneurial intention. Entrepreneurship education improves the ability to establish a business in the present and in entrepreneurial activities in the future. Entrepreneurial competence obtained through entrepreneurship education continuously affects entrepreneurial intention.

Abstract:The rise of university-wide entrepreneurship education (EE) programmes in the past two decades is witnessed both in developed and developing regions. The 'Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation' strategy introduced in China in 2014 and series of policies issued afterwards highlight the increasing importance of entrepreneurship, and the parallel promotion of university-wide EE throughout the country. Based on a semi-structured interviews and policy document reviews, this article interrogates the issues and challenges in university-wide EE programme implementation in China, with special reference to Zhejiang province. This study identified four key issues and challenges: the struggle of pursuing 'legitimacy', varied models-development of EE, lack of entrepreneurship faculty staff and experts, and the lack of cooperation among stakeholders. This article recommends the need for an interdisciplinary development of EE and an active engagement of various stakeholders to promote a sustainable EE programme in China.

Abstract:Innovation and entrepreneurship are increasingly associated with economic, technological and social development (Fagerberg, Fosaas, and Sapprasert 2012 ; Landström, Harirchi, and Åström 2012 ). As countries strive to strengthen their knowledge-based economies, policymaking has focused on how innovation and entrepreneurship activities can accelerate economic growth, promote industrial upgrading and transform employment structures (Bartels et al., 2012 ; World Bank, 2015 ). Universities, as organizations dedicated to knowledge transmission, production and application, have come under heighten pressure to demonstrate their contribution in nurturing talents, spurring innovation and supporting the development of knowledge-based economies (Etzkowitz 2003 ; Jessop 2017 ). Notably, universities' engagement with innovation and entrepreneurship is often conceptualized by the term "entrepreneurial university." This concept refers to universities that vigorously generate additional financial resources to support their operation through commercializing knowledge, forming collaborations beyond academia, and integrating an entrepreneurial culture (Clark 2001 ). The "triple helix model" further highlights the need for universities to engage deeply with industry and government to propel economic and social progress (Etzkowitz and Leydesdorff 2000 ). Undoubtedly, the emergence of such concepts has changed the positioning of universities from a support structure for innovation and entrepreneurship through knowledge generation, research output and personnel training to influential actor and equal partner (Etzkowitz 2003 ).

Abstract:Entrepreneurship education (EE) has rapidly evolved within higher education and has emerged as a pivotal mechanism for cultivating innovative and entrepreneurial talent. In China, while EE has made positive strides, it still faces a series of practical challenges. These issues cannot be effectively addressed solely through the efforts of universities. Based on the triple helix (TH) theory, this study delves into the unified objectives and practical content of EE in Chinese higher education. Through a comprehensive literature review on EE, coupled with educational objectives, planned behavior, and entrepreneurship process theories, this study introduces the 4H objective model of EE. 4H stands for Head (mindset), Hand (skill), Heart (attitude), and Help (support). Additionally, the research extends to a corresponding content model that encompasses entrepreneurial learning, entrepreneurial practice, startup services, and the entrepreneurial climate as tools for achieving the objectives. Based on a single-case approach, this study empirically explores the application of the content model at T-University. Furthermore, this paper elucidates how the university plays a role through the comprehensive development of entrepreneurial learning, practices, services, and climate in nurturing numerous entrepreneurs and facilitating the flourishing of the regional entrepreneurial ecosystem. This paper provides important contributions in its application of TH theory to develop EE within the Chinese context, and it provides clear guidance by elucidating the core objectives and practical content of EE. The proposed conceptual framework serves not only as a guiding tool but also as a crucial conduit for fostering the collaborative development of the EE ecosystem. To enhance the robustness of the framework, this study advocates strengthening empirical research on TH theory through multiple and comparative case studies.

Abstract:The recent economic success of China has been largely driven by the entrepreneurial potential cultivated within its education sectors. However, higher education institutions' efforts in fostering entrepreneurship and innovation seem not to meet employees' expectations. Among issues of entrepreneurship education at China universities and vocational colleges are incomprehensive teaching content and students' weak innovative ideas. Thus, an urgent examination of entrepreneurial education within Chinese higher education is necessary. Through a systematic literature review, this study explores the evolution of entrepreneurial education within Chinese higher education institutions, with a particular focus on vocational colleges. Drawing upon past studies, this study proposes strategic interventions to enhance the entrepreneurship curriculum, including the integration of practical experiences, strengthening teacher competency, fostering industry-academic partnerships, and digitalizing educational approaches. Ultimately, it advocates for a comprehensive reform to align entrepreneurial education programmes with the evolving needs of China's entrepreneurial system, thus ensuring the cultivation of a new generation of innovative and enterprising individuals to drive economic prosperity.

Abstract:A new trend in world higher education since the late 20th century is the emergence and development of entrepreneurial universities.This paper firstly discusses the connotation of "reformative" and "guidance" entrepreneurial universities based on the analysis of two different research approaches.Referring to the discussion,the paper combs the basic features of the entrepreneurial universities from the dimensions of the organization′s goal,construction,operation mechanism and cultures,summarizing entrepreneurial universities′ uniqueness from the previous teaching-intensive universities and research-intensive universities.At last,the paper proposes some practice approaches for those high-level universities in China to establish entrepreneurial universities from the aspects of developing vision,organizational goal,organizational institutions,operation mechanism,resources distribution and organization's cultures.
