Re-enchantment of the World: Ecological Transform of Aesthetic Experiences

Abstract:The ideology of modernity persists in the mechanistic worldview, believing nature can be transformed into a group of inter-separable yet independent factors or particles, which formed the nature resulting in “the disenchantment of the world” (Marx Weber's words). However, postmodern ecology thinks of nature as an organic whole, which is neither a storehouse of natural resources, nor a wasteland without any life, but a flower garden, which needs care of human being, and this would lead to “the re-enchantment of the world”. Such a great change of worldview must bring about a relevant change in aesthetic experiences.
