Abstract:The modern media are not limited to the traditional print ones(newspaper).The diversity of the media forms and the advancement of the internet especially,cause the whole amount of all the news to be difficult to measure.In this era of information explosion,how to convey some valuable news to the audience effectively in time so as to make the news exert its due role becomes an inevitable question for the news writers and editors to examine their wisdom of language expression in the circumstances of the huge amount of news.In order to make the news fully understood by the audience at the utmost,the news writers and editors must place emphasis on expression skills by working hard on the rhetoric of characters and sentences to catch the audience's attention quickly at the earliest time.The headlines require expression skills,but they should comply with the principles of nature and properness instead of rhetoric skills for rhetoric.
