Abstract:The overall design of a high efficiency and high precision centering device for ship pipe welding was put forward. To ensure the pipe centering accuracy,in this device,same direction tapered tube and steel balls were used to lock the inner wall of the pipe. To improve efficiency,in this device,hydraulic cylinder was used to provide power. Using finite element analysis software AN-SYS,the structure was analyzed,and the feasibility of the device was verified through tests.

Abstract:This paper designs the host computer software of control system of ultra-magnetostrictive boring-cutting processing non-circular cylindrical hole.Based on LabVIEW software graphical programming language,a human-computer interface and data pre-processing module are designed,using uniform angle approaching method to handle elliptic curve of non-circular cylindrical hole cross-section.The communication protocol between host computer and slave computer of the control system and the RS-232 serial communication program are designed.
Development of Drawing Die for Heat-Shield Panel of Automobile Engine Based on Finite Element

Abstract:A finite element model describing the drawing process of the heat-shield panel of automobile engine is established by using the commercial dynamic explicit code LS-DYNA. By the established model, the effect of BHF (Blank Holder Force) on the drawing process is analyzed, with the results showing that no appropriate BHF can effectively restrain the severe wrinkling and folding as well as the tearing. Therefore, drawbead is employed together with BHF to control the drawing process, and several typical layouts of drawbead are analyzed and compared via FEA (Finite Element Analysis), with the most effective one then being applied to stamping experiments. The results indicate that the results of FEA accord well with those of the experiments, and that the proposed drawbead layout can eliminate the severe wrinkling and folding as well as avoid the excessive thinning.By the FEA, engineers can make correct decisions at the early design stage, and the development cycle of the drawing die for the panel shortens to 4 weeks from the past 12 weeks.

Abstract:Large diameter thin-walled tubes are key lightweight components with important applications in the aviation and aerospace industries. However, bending forming is very difficult due to multi-die constraints and multiple forming defects. In this study, a numerical control (NC) rotary draw bending (RDB) forming method for large diameter-to-thickness ratio thin-walled (LDTRTW) tubes was investigated. First, a bionic elastic mandrel was introduced and applied to the NC RDB forming process. Then, a finite element (FE) model for NC RDB forming of LDTRTW stainless steel tubes was established. Thereafter, a method for engineering translation and design of the bionic elastic mandrel was proposed. Finally, a bending experiment was conducted and the experimental results were compared to the simulation results to validate the rationality of the FE model and the effectiveness of the bionic elastic mandrel, which is important for enriching the bending forming technique of LDTRTW tubes.

Abstract:The parts in the structure design of stamping die are usually serialized standard parts including punch,bottom die,pilot pin,fixed block,guide posts and bushings etc or typical parts like upper holder or lower holder which have the same or similar structural unit.To improve working efficiency,the development of standard part library and intelligent design support tools were researched.With VC++ programming the system made user's dialogs for components searching and choosing,parameters checking,model viewing and so on as standard COM or DLL,which making user's interface of standard part library independent of any kind of CAD platform and easy to plug-in any CAD platform so as to be used widely.

Abstract:Punches and dies are the real operating components and account for a large portion in the progressive die design procedure. This paper presents a structural design tool for punches and dies for progressive dies of motor core based on functional component. The descriptive model of punch and die component is established which contains three aspect of information, geometry information, assembly-related constraint attribute and hole-related information on plates. Based on the classification and 3D modeling method of punches and dies, the library of components for punches and dies is set up according to the descriptive model. Methods for modeling and data management for components of punches and dies are discussed in detail. The proposed tool for progressive die for motor cores can complete the design of five classes of punches and dies and generate holes on plates automatically. This design tool is constructed on a PC and integrated with a SolidWorks CAD system. The progressive die design for the motor core of house appliance is employed as a practical example to demonstrate the effectiveness of the design tool. The results reveal that it can dramatically improve the design quality and can save both time and costs.

Abstract:Pipe bending machine accuracy testing requires complex operation of supporting software using different instruments, in order to integrate the functions of multiple detection instruments into one software to simplify operation, a pipe bending machine detection system based on C++ and Java is developed. The system needs to read the instrument test data, instrument manufacturers only provide C++ development kit, Java has advantages in application development, so use joint programming, solving C++ and Java data transfer problems with Socket communication, realization of pipe bending machine detection system. Compared to traditional detection methods, the system aggregates functions into one system, reduce the cumbersome operation between processes. Select a measurement item as an example to test, prove easy operation of the whole system, simplify the inspection process, effective auxiliary testing personnel testing, It provides convenience for precision detection of pipe bender.
Diamond-coated tube drawing die optimization using finite element model simulation and response surface methodology

Abstract:Diamond-coated drawing dies are considered as the next generation of drawing dies for their unique characteristics, such as high hardness, wear resistance, low friction and thermal conductivity in the cold drawing process. In order to utilize the superior characteristics of diamond coatings toward improving the drawing performance, modified typed drawing die is developed to minimize the diameter shrinkage. Finite element model simulation is used to simulate the low carbon steel tube sinking drawing process, using a two-dimensional axi-symmetric elastic-plastic element model. The parameters of tube drawing die, such as the main reduction zone (1), the semi-angle of the secondary reduction zone (2) and the length of the secondary reduction zone L, are considered. Based on the simulation results, the cause of diameter shrinkage is studied. The influence of parameters of tube drawing dies on the diameter shrinkage is investigated using the response surface methodology. The gained equation reveals that L is the most significant parameter.
Effect of die structure parameters on deformation behavior of bent tube in free bending process

Abstract:The bending section of tube between the bending die and the guider is in a less constrained state during the free bending process. The free bending dies have the important impact on the plastic deformation behavior and the forming quality of tube. To study the evolution law of the deformation behavior of tube with the die structure parameters and optimize the free bending die parameters, the free bending experiments and the corresponding numerical simulations were carried out. The design principle of free bending die was illustrated. The free bending experiment was conducted to verify the reliability of the numerical simulation method. Based on the numerical simulation results, the influence of the distance between the center point of bending die and the front end of guider on the forming quality of bent tube is more obvious than that of the fillet of guider. However, the fillet of bending die hardly affects the stress and strain distribution and the evolution of the wall thickness. Finally, the free bending experiments with the newly determined free bending dies were conducted. The ultimate bending radius of bent tube is reduced and the forming quality is improved.

Abstract:This article uses the connector terminal’s three-dimensional entity as the model, and then imports it into 3D finite element analysis software-SolidWorks, the feasible stamping process plans and the multistage progressive die design are proposed by using the plug-in Logopress 3.The processing of the mold parts simulation and NC programming Steps are simulated by using the SolidCAM.Aiming at the problems of complex edge shape, large number of process stages and low overall design efficiency of terminal multistage progressive die.The application provides a reference for subsequent die design and die manufacturing.

Abstract:This paper presents a system for design and simulation of supporting tube structure. We model each freeform tube component as a swept surface, and employ boundary control and skeletal control to manipulate its cross-sections and its embedding respectively. With the parametrization of the swept surface, a quadrilateral mesh consisting of nine-node general shell elements is automatically generated and the stress distribution of the structure is simulated using the finite element method. In order to accelerate the complex finite element simulation, we adopt a two-level subspace simulation strategy, which constructs a secondary complementary subspace to improve the subspace simulation accuracy. Together with the domain decomposition method, our system is able to provide interactive feedback for parametric freeform tube editing. Experiments show that our system is able to predict the structural character of the tube structure efficiently and accurately. (C) 2015 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

Abstract:The library management system runs on the DOS system, based on the C lan-guage as the main programming language and Visual C as the development environment. According to the characteristics of the system, we construct the development model and then build structural analysis, system function modules and system flow chart through the demand analysis of the system. Through the analysis of each function module, the definition and attributes of the data and the realization of each function are determined. In the paper, the design of the library management system includes the user module, the administrator module and the module of tourists and also achieves the usual function including borrowing books, returning books and books management.
