Abstract:China has been instituting national basic education curriculum reforms since 2001. This study provides an updated understanding of present-day, rural primary school music education in Northeastern China’s Tonghua region. A total of 126 rural primary music teachers and 674 students from 28 primary schools in the region were surveyed using a questionnaire. In addition, teachers were interviewed about the factors responsible for the current situation. The findings reveal that primary music education in the rural areas of North-east China is suffering from a number of problems including the inadequate provision of resources by local government, teachers’ lack of professionalism in terms of music education, and an inadequate understanding of the new curriculum reforms and rationales. The measures recommended to improve the current situation in the region may also provide insights that would prove useful for global consideration.

Abstract:Primary school music education plays an important role in primary education, which can not only further cultivate the quality of primary school students, but also lay the foundation for their own artistic development in the future, and more importantly, can further cultivate their own sentiments. However, there are still many problems in music teaching, such as teacher shortage, aging facilities, insufficient funds, etc., and experts in the field of music education have conducted very in-depth and detailed research on primary school music education from the macro level. However, there are relatively few studies at the micro level. Therefore, this paper takes all the teachers who serve as music classrooms in a primary school in Changsha as a sample, adopts the questionnaire survey method, analyzes the data, and puts forward corresponding strategies and suggestions for the current situation from multiple dimensions, in order to solve the problems existing in the current stage of music education in Qianjin Primary School.

Abstract:In the context of the information age, in order to further improve the teaching level and teaching effect in remote areas and promote the balanced development of education, synchronous live classes are used to connect remote and scattered rural primary schools and teaching sites, so as to share high-quality resources and make progress together. However, in the process of practical teaching, it is not good for students' face experience and classroom interaction, because there are lack of teachers, weak professional, much distal class and so on. After observing 34 synchronized music live classes of three music teachers, the author analyzed the interactive problems of music live class teaching in some rural areas, and put forward corresponding countermeasures to help relevant teachers to carry out synchronized music live class teaching.

Abstract:This study aims to explore the problems of music teaching in Chinese colleges and universities. Through the review and analysis of the existing literature, it is found that music teaching in Chinese colleges and universities suffers from the problems of homogenised content, outdated methods and insufficient teachers. Among them, the problems in teaching are specifically reflected in the following three aspects: music teaching in Chinese colleges and universities tends to favour traditional classical music, ignoring other genres of music, students lack of music education that combines with the trend of the times, and the influence of China's education system and policies. Outdated teaching methods are specifically manifested in the following 3 aspects: neglecting the active participation of students and the cultivation of practical ability, lack of innovative teaching means and tools, and the existence of the neglect of students' individual needs. Inadequate teacher strength is specifically manifested in the following 3 aspects: inadequate teacher training system, lack of teachers with professional skills, and imperfect teacher mobility and file management.

Abstract:In 2020, the sudden COVID-19 outbreak brought huge economic and life losses to the whole world, affecting all walks of life in China, including the education industry which suffered from many problems, such as students' learning needs for medical health knowledge, publicity needs for public health safety, psychological and mental health protection needs, and online learning needs based on internet accelerated speed .In rural China, some rural students have physical and mental health problems due to the problems of rural population structure, infrastructure construction, talent mobility, etc. In this period, schools should pay more attention to the psychological counseling and education of rural students, on which music education has a positive impact. During the epidemic period, rural education construction around cultural revitalization was gradually implemented under the background of China's full implementation of rural revitalization strategy. In the construction of rural education, music education is an important cornerstone to promote the all-round development of students, build a rural cultural atmosphere and inherit the excellent national culture. With the change of social environment, the country music education welcomes new opportunities, but also faces some practical problems to be solved.First of all, the literature on the COVID-19 outbreak and rural music education is studied and analyzed through on-the-spot visits and investigation on the current situation of music education in rural schools. Then, interviews and records are made with rural music teachers and students. Next, discussions are made on the construction of rural music teachers, information technology of music education, cultural life of the rural masses and other aspects. Finally, relevant strategies for the development of rural music education are put forward.The COVID-19 outbreak has narrowed the channels for rural music teachers' professional promotion, and caused some problems in rural students' mental health. In addition, rural schools have some shortcomings in online learning and information education based on internet plus, and the number of rural cultural performances and activities has decreased.Education managers should take corresponding management measures to innovate the music education model with the aid of modern teaching technology. At the same time, rural schools need to maintain long-term cooperation with all sectors of society and cooperate in public health, medical resources, education resources, curriculum innovation, rural cultural activities and other aspects to ensure the real implementation, promotion and development of music education, aesthetic education and art education in the countryside during the COVID-19 epidemic.

Abstract:This article mainly discusses the development characteristics of "strong teacher" in rural music teachers from the perspective of subject core literacy, and summarizes the development plans for teachers form three aspects of "independent development", "social participation", and "cultural foundation". Through effective thinking on the analysis of the current situation of music education in rural primary and secondary schools, the following three issues can be identified: cognitive bias in the construction of rural music education, insufficient integration of rural music teachers, and insufficient equipment in rural music classrooms. A comprehensive development strategy has been proposed to enhance the comprehensive strength of rural music teachers, as well as their professional ethics and subject core literacy, and integrate localized teaching resources for the development of "strong teachers" in rural music. Abstract:There are some problems in music teaching in Chinese colleges and universities, and we can take a series of countermeasures and suggestions to solve these problems and improve the quality of music teaching. Firstly, updating the teaching content is necessary. We should strengthen the education of diversified music genres, not only limited to classical music, but also focusing on other music forms such as pop music and ethnic music. At the same time, combining with the trend of the times, we should pay attention to cultivating students' music creation and performance ability, so that they can adapt to the development needs of the times. Secondly, innovative teaching methods are also key. The traditional lecture-type teaching mode can no longer meet the needs of students, and we should introduce modern technical means to improve the teaching effect. Finally, strengthening the cultivation and selection of teachers is also the key to solve the problem.

Abstract:With the continuous popularization of higher education, college music education is more and more ignored and valued, which shows that the status of college music education is gradually improving. In recent years, although some achievements have been made in the reform of music education in Colleges and universities, there are still many problems to be improved due to the lack of subjective and objective conditions, which are worthy of further study and reflection. Orff music education plays a very important role in children's music teaching methods all over the world. Orff music education system is the common enlightenment of drama, music, dance and other art disciplines. Music educators all over the world have accumulated rich teaching methods and experience in hard practice and innovation. Based on the above situation, this paper takes Orff's music education methods and teaching design as well as college music teaching as the research object, analyzes it, and then investigates the basic situation of music teaching in China and the actual situation of Orff's music education. Finally, combined with the survey results, this paper analyzes the application of Orff's music education method in music teaching in Colleges and universities in China, and puts forward suggestions, hoping to make some efforts for the development of music education in Colleges and universities in China.

Abstract:This article provides a comprehensive review of the current status and future trends of music education in junior middle schools in China. The primary objective is to provide an insightful overview of the landscape by examining various aspects of music education. The research methodology involves a thorough examination of current practices, with an emphasis on synthesizing information from recent studies and research papers. The central theme emphasizes life-long learning as a core strategy in contemporary music education. Another important aspect explored is the emphasis on a music education strategy based on core skills. The article delves into the cultivation of students' aesthetic perception and overall quality, with the goal of providing a deeper musical experience and comprehensive development in music learning. In addition, the article discusses the application of interdisciplinary integration and interactive teaching strategies in music education. These strategies are presented with the goal of enhancing teaching effectiveness and promoting greater student engagement in the learning process, and the article emphasizes the importance of fostering students' sense of music and ability to appreciate music as integral components of improving core musical literacy. By citing relevant research, this review provides both theoretical guidance and practical references for junior middle school music education in China. In conclusion, the trajectory of junior middle school music education in China is depicted as evolving toward a more life-oriented, comprehensive, and interactive approach, with an emphasis on cultivating students' musical literacy and aesthetic ability.

Abstract:Promoting Chinese culture has always been one of the indispensable goals in Chinese education. However, as multiculturalism becomes more integrated, the issue of Westernization in music education in Chinese primary schools becomes increasingly apparent. This article will take primary school music education as an entry point to deeply analyze the reasons for the lack of native culture. Through analysis, it is concluded that the reasons for the lack of national music culture can be summarized into four aspects of deficiencies: respectively the lack of teaching tools; the lack of teaching content; the lack of teaching system and the lack of teaching environment. In response to the above four problems, this article puts forward corresponding solutions and suggestions. This article is only based on the research at the primary education stage. Currently, junior high school, high school and other stages also have the same problems and are worthy of research and exploration.

Abstract:Music literacy contributes to the cultivation of the comprehensive quality of the students in higher vocational colleges and realizes the overall development of students. As a great treasure house in music, classical music not only has high value for students' music education, but also has important significance for the cultivation of students' music literacy. Through questionnaire survey method, document retrieval method and individual interview method, we analyze the situation of Chinese vocational college students' understanding of classical music, and find that classical music plays an important role in the cultivation of music literacy of vocational college students. However, at this stage, higher vocational colleges have problems such as insufficient attention from schools, lack of relevant teachers, classical music is too profound for students, and students lack the awareness and aesthetics of classical music learning. This article puts forward the school's emphasis on classical emphasis and training measures, strengthening teachers and enriching teaching methods, and improving students’ learning awareness and aesthetic level. Through research from schools, teachers, and students, it is found that schools need to pay attention to campus culture. The combination of construction, curriculum formulation, teacher training, students' learning awareness and interest, etc., helps students in vocational colleges learn classical music, enhance their music literacy, and provide references for classical music learning research in vocational colleges.

Abstract:In mainland China, the implementation of the junior secondary school’s music curriculum is highly dependent on music teachers’ attitudes towards music and music education. This study investigated the possible relationship between teachers’ attitudes towards teaching Chinese folk music and their music teaching practice in junior secondary schools in Weifang, China. A total of 72 secondary school teachers responded to a questionnaire regarding their attitude towards teaching Chinese folk music and their perception of students’ attitudes to learning the genre. Six semi-structured interviews with voluntary teachers were conducted to explore the constraints of teaching Chinese folk music. Findings indicate that most respondents have a positive attitude towards teaching Chinese folk music although they spent limited time teaching the genre. Teachers’ attitudes are not only related to their personal musical preference and students’ responses, but are also shaped and modified by the educational context of China, including music teachers’ professional training, teaching responsibility, and the needs of the job market. Promoting Chinese music through education requires both music teachers and teaching policy makers to have an appropriate understanding of Chinese folk music which should not be supplementary to the main content; rather, it should be an imperative part of the music curriculum. Learning Chinese folk music is beneficial for nurturing students’ musical identities. Balancing the ratio of Western classical music and Chinese folk music in music classes is helpful in cultivating students’ multicultural perspectives.

Abstract:This study used a questionnaire as a research instrument to investigate the attitudes of 1 368 Chinese primary and secondary school music teachers towards world music teaching. The questionnaire includes single- and multiple-choice questions. It was used to examine the music teachers’ definitions of ethnomusicology and world music, their understanding of the major rationales for world music teaching, the world view of music, and the purpose of world music education, teaching approaches, and effective teaching activities as they perceived, and the challenges faced by Chinese music teachers in world music teaching. The results showed that Chinese music teachers did not have a clear and profound understanding of the aspects examined above. Instead, the teachers are more influenced by Western centralist values. They are less affected by ethnomusicology, which interprets human music from a cultural perspective, and multicultural music education. In general, the music teachers lacked confidence in teaching world music.
