Abstract:Vehicle weight and alternative materials development like aluminum alloys and magnesium alloys are hot issues around the world in the automobile industry. Therefore, in the present study, the structure analysis of the rear suspension 5‐links made by aluminum alloys (A356) with a tensile strength of 245 MPa, was performed using computer aided engineering to investigate the lightweight design process from the reference of the rear suspension 5‐links which was made by the steel materials and was already proven in the commercial market. Especially the simulated maximum von Mises stresses after strength analysis were normalized as the fatigue limit and were converted to the weight ratios of the same type as the fatigue safety factor suggested and referred to as such in this study. From these, it was suggested that the fatigue properties could be simply predicted only from this static computer aided engineering simulation. The weight reduction could be achieved when comparing steel and aluminum alloy models. It was a useful method to satisfy the fatigue safe design by using simple static analysis and weight factors. Das Fahrzeuggewicht und die Entwicklung alternativer Werkstoffe wie Aluminiumlegierungen und Magnesiumlegierungen sind in der Automobilindustrie weltweit von großer Bedeutung. Daher wurde in der vorliegenden Studie die Strukturanalyse der Hinterradaufhängung mit 5 Verbindungen aus Aluminiumlegierungen (A356) mit einer Zugfestigkeit von 245 MPa unter Verwendung rechnerunterstützter Entwicklungsverfahren durchgeführt, um den Leichtbaudesignprozess der Referenzkonfiguration einer Hinterradaufhängungsverbindung, die aus einem Stahlwerkstoff hergestellt wurde und sich bereits kommerziell bewährt hat, zu untersuchen. Insbesondere die simulierten maximalen von Mises‐Spannungen nach der Festigkeitsanalyse werden als Ermüdungsgrenze normalisiert und bei Beachtung der Gewichtsverhältnisse des gleichen Typs wie z. B. dem Ermüdungssicherheitsfaktor umgewandelt. Es wird vorgeschlagen, dass die Ermüdungseigenschaften nur aus der statischen rechnergestützten Simulation vorhergesagt werden. Eine Gewichtsreduzierung konnte beim Vergleich von Stahl‐ und Aluminiumlegierungsmodellen erreicht werden. Das Verfahren hat sich als nützlich erwiesen, um ein ermüdungsfreies Design durch einfache statische Analyse und Gewichtsfaktoren zu erzielen.
