Abstract:The ground entanglement and thermal entanglement in quantum mixed spin chains consisting of two integer spins 1 and two half integer spins 1/2 arrayed as ${1/2}-{1/2}-1-1$ in a unit cell with antiferromagnetic nearest-neighbor couplings $J_1$($J_2$) between the spins of equal (different) magnitudes, are investigated by adopting the log-negativity. The ground entanglement transition found here is closely related with the valence bond state transition, and the thermal entanglement near the critical point is calculated and shown that two distinct behaviors exist in the nearest neighbor same kind of spins and different kind of spins, respectively. The potential application of our results on the quantum information processing is also discussed.

Abstract:We investigate multipartite entanglement and a quantum phase transition for spin chain systems by making use of the density-matrix renormalization-group method in the form of matrix-product states. It is found that multipartite entanglement changes dramatically near the critical region and the residual-to-global entanglement ratio reaches its maximum at the critical point of the quantum phase transition. These results indicate that multipartite entanglement as well as the residual-to-global entanglement ratio can serve as good indicators to detect a quantum phase transition. We also demonstrate a linear relation between the next-nearest-neighbor interaction strength and the critical magnetic field for an XYZ spin chain by using multipartite entanglement and quantum coherence.

Abstract:The correlation and fluctuation of both entangled electrons and spin-polarized pairs affected by two rotating magnetic fields in a setup proposed by J. Carlos Egues etc. (Phys. Rev. Lett. {\bf 89}(2002) 176401) are studied theoretically by using scattering approach. Differing from polarized pair, the entangled electron pairs are shown to behave like a composite particle with the total spins and its $z$ components. The singlet and triplet states exhibit different bunching and antibunching features, which can be easily adjusted by the magnetic fields. The correlations and variances can show up distinguish output signals for the four incident states. Our results are expected to be tested by using coincident technique.

Abstract:We are motivated by a setup proposed by J. Carlos Egues et al. (Phys. Rev. Lett., 89 (2002) 176401) to investigate correlations of entangled electron pairs in the presence of two rotating magnetic fields. Using the scattering approach we show that the entangled electron pairs just like a composite particle. The singlet and triplet states show different bunching and anti-bunching behaviors, which can be easily controlled by the magnetic fields. Abstract:We study the spin distribution and macroscopic entanglement in spinor condensates confined in an anisotropic potential under external magnetic fields. Different types of magnetic phases can be reached by tuning the magnetic dipolar interaction strength by modifying the trapping geometry. We investigate the atom-number fluctuations of the ground state and show that the different internal hyperfine states exhibit super-Poissonian, Poissonian, and sub-Poissonian distributions with different trapping geometries and strengths of the external magnetic field. We also propose a scheme to create a macroscopic maximally entangled spin state by slowly sweeping the external magnetic field.

Abstract:Taking the intrinsic decoherence effect into account, this paper investigates the entanglement of a two-qubit anisotropic Heisenberg XYZ model in the presence of nonuniform external magnetic fields by employing the concurrence as entanglement measure. It is found that both the intrinsic decoherence and the anisotropy of the system give a significant suppression to the entanglement. Moreover it finds that the initial state of the system plays an important role in the time evolution of the entanglement, which means that the entanglement of the system is independent of the nonuniformity and uniformity of the magnetic field when the system is in the initial state |(0)ψ = |00〉 and | ψ' (0)〉 = m |01〉 + n |10〉, respectively.

Abstract:Quantum mechanical methods for getting geometric phases for mixed states are analyzed. Parallel transport equations for pure states are generalized to mixed states by which dynamical phases are eliminated. The geometric phases of mixed states are obtained as Pancharatnam phases which are valid also for open cycles. The geometric phases are derived here by SU(2) transformations of mixed thermal states which are different from those used in NMR and neutron interference experiments. While the zeroth order Hamiltonian is given by the interaction of a magnetic moment and constant magnetic field in the z direction, the high order perturbations assumed in the present article are composed of two oscillating magnetic fields in the same z direction. These assumptions lead to a special form of the SU(2) unitary transformation of the mixed thermal states by which results for geometric phase and for interference intensity are derived.

Abstract:Using the spin-wave approximation, we study the geometric phase (GP) of a central spin (signal qubit) coupled to an antiferromagnetic (AF) environment under the application of an external global magnetic field. The external magnetic field affects the GP of the qubit directly and also indirectly through its effect on the AF environment. We find that when the applied magnetic field is increased to the critical magnetic field point, the AF environment undergoes a spin-flop transition, a first-order phase transition, and at the same time the GP of the qubit changes abruptly to zero. This sensitive change of the GP of a signal qubit to the parameter change of a many-body environment near its critical point may serve as another efficient tool or witness to study the many-body phase transition. The influences of the AF environment temperature and crystal anisotropy field on the GP are also investigated.

Abstract:Herein, we study the Heisenberg two-qubit XYZ chain in a z-directional non-uniform magnetic field by considering concurrence to be the entanglement metric. Further, we explore the properties of ground-state entanglement in different parameter ranges, calculate the critical magnetic field value, and discuss the relations between the average/critical magnetic fields and the quantum phase transition. We also analyze the interaction of the two adjacent qubits of the z-component J(z) of the spin and investigate the influences of the anisotropy parameters gamma(B) and gamma(J) on the thermal entanglement of the Heisenberg model. The relations among the anisotropy, coupling parameter J(z), and thermal entanglement can be better illustrated by drawing images. The results denote that in a two-qubit system at an effective temperature T, the critical magnetic field B-c decreases and the entanglement gradually disappears as gamma(J) increases when the coupling parameter gamma(J) is equal to 0. However, when the coupling parameter J(z) is greater than 0, the ranges of magnetic field and temperature with the maximum degree of entanglement increase with increasing J(z) for appropriate values of the anisotropy parameters gamma(B) and gamma(J), effectively enhancing the entanglement.

Abstract:Quantum spin liquid has massive many spin entanglement in the ground state, we can evaluate it by the entanglement entropy, but the latter can not be observed directly by experiment. In this manuscript, we try to characterize its topological properties by the geometric phase. However the usual adiabatic or non-adiabatic geometric phase can not appear in the density matrix of entanglement entropy, so we extend it to the sub-geometric phase which can exist in the density matrix and have influence on the entanglement entropy, spin correlation function as well as other physical observable. We will demonstrate that the imaginary part of sub-geometric phase will deviate the resonance peak by an amount concerning with this phase and affect the energy level crossing, while the real part of sub-geometric phase will determine the stability of initial state, it may provide a complement on the selection rule of quantum transition.

Abstract:Mixed spin-(1/2,1/2,1) trimer with two different Landé g factors and two different exchange couplings is considered. The main feature of the model is nonconserving magnetization. The Hamiltonian of the system is diagonalized analytically. We presented a detailed analysis of the ground-state properties, revealing several possible ground-state phase diagrams and magnetization profiles. The main focus is on how nonconserving magnetization affects quantum entanglement. We have found that nonconserving magnetization can bring a continuous dependence of the entanglement quantifying parameter (negativity) on the magnetic field within the same eigenstate, while for the case of uniform g factors it is a constant. The main result is an essential enhancement of the entanglement in the case of uniform couplings for one pair of spins caused by an arbitrary small difference in the values of g factors. This enhancement is robust and brings almost a sevenfold increase of the negativity. We have also found a weakening of entanglement for other cases. Abstract:Objective The algebriaic dynamics is applied to investigate the geometric phase of a Heisenberg-chain,in order to find out how the coulping strengths between spins influence the geometric phase of this system.Method An interacting anisotropic 3-spin 1/2 system,which is driven by a rotating magnetic field,is considered.The system has a su(2) algebraic structure.By an unitary gauge transformation,this nonautonomous system becomes an autonomous system.The Schrodinger equation of the autonomous system is solved.By virtue of the inverse transformation of the original gauge transformation,the exact analytical solution to the time dependent Schrodinger equation is obtained in total spin 1/2 subspace.Resutlt The geometric phases in this subspace are calculated.Conclusion The result shows that(i)Coulping strengths don't influence the geometric phases of this system;(ii) The geometric phases of the system is the same as that of one spin 1/2 system in a rotating magnetic field.

Abstract:In this paper, we generalize the results of S. Oh (Physics Letters A. 644-647 \textbf{373 }) to Dzyaloshinski-Moriya model under nonuniform external magnetic field to investigate the relation between entanglement, geometric phase (or Berry phase) and quantum phase transition. We use quaternionic representation to relate the geometric phase to the quantum phase transition. For small values of DM parameter, the Berry phase is more appropriate than the concurrence measure, while for large values, the concurrence is a good indicator to show the phase transition. On the other hand, by increasing the DM interaction the phase transition occurs for large values of anisotropy parameter. In addition, for small values of magnetic field the concurrence measure is appropriate indicator for quantum phase transition, but for large values of magnetic field the Berry phase shows a sharp changes in the phase transition points. The results show that the Berry phase and concurrence form a complementary system from phase transition point of view.

Abstract:Correlation relations for the spin measurements on a pair of entangled particles scattered by the two separate arms of interferometers in hybrid setups of different types are investigated. Concurrence, entanglement of formation, quantum fidelity, Bures distance are used to clarify how the geometric phase affects the initial bipartite state. This affect causes a quantum interference due to the movement of charged particles in regions where electromagnetic fields are not present. We shown that in some cases the geometric phase information is carried over to the final bipartite entangled state.

Abstract:By using the concept of negativity, we investigate entanglement in (1/2,1) mixed-spin Heisenberg systems. We obtain the analytical results of entanglement in small isotropic Heisenberg clusters with only nearest-neighbor (NN) interactions up to four spins and in the four-spin Heisenberg model with both NN and next-nearest-neighbor (NNN) interactions. For more spins, we numerically study effects of temperature, magnetic fields, and NNN interactions on entanglement. We study in detail the threshold value of the temperature, after which the negativity vanishes.

Genuine tripartite entanglement in a mixed spin-(1/2,1) Heisenberg tetramer

Abstract:A genuine tripartite entanglement of a mixed spin-(1/2,1) Heisenberg tetramer is rigorously analyzed in a presence of external magnetic field. The couple of mixed spin-(1/2,1) dimers is arranged in a perfect rectangular square plaquette involving two nonequivalent Heisenberg exchange couplings $J$ and $J_1$. The degree of a genuine tripartite entanglement is evaluated according to the genuine tripartite negativity ${\cal N}_{ABC}$ defined as a geometric mean of all possible bipartite negativities corresponding to a decomposition into a single spin and the remaining spin dimer ${\cal N}_{A|BC}$, ${\cal N}_{B|AC}$ and ${\cal N}_{C|AB}$ after degrees of freedom of the last fourth spin $D$ are traced out. Due to the symmetry of a mixed spin-(1/2,1) Heisenberg tetramer two different genuine tripartite negativities for the trimeric system $1/2\!-\!1\!-\!1$ and $1/2\!-\!1/2\!-\!1$ were identified. It was found that the genuine tripartite negativity for the interaction ratio $J_1/J\!<\!1$ becomes nonzero solely in the tripartite system $1/2\!-\!1\!-\!1$ at low-enough magnetic fields. The opposite interaction limit $J_1/J\!>\!1$ gives rise to the nonzero genuine tripartite negativity in both tripartite systems in a presence of external magnetic field until the classical ferromagnetic state is achieved. It was shown, that the genuine tripartite negativity of a mixed spin-(1/2,1) Heisenberg tetramer can be detected also at nonzero temperatures. An enhancement of the thermal genuine tripartite negativity through the enlargement of the total spin number of a tripartite system is evidenced. The correlation between the bipartite negativity of two spins and the genuine tripartite negativity is discussed in detail.
