Abstract:This paper generalizes the Bochner formulas to the case of Hermitian complex(possibly nonholomorphic) vector bundles over Hermitian manifolds.As applications,the analyticity of harmonic mapping between a class of Hermitian manifolds is obtained.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the existence of various harmonic maps from Hermitian manifolds to Kaehler, Hermitian and Riemannian manifolds respectively. By using refined Bochner formulas on Hermitian (possibly non-Kaehler) manifolds, we derive new rigidity results on Hermitian harmonic maps from compact Hermitian manifolds to Riemannian manifolds, and we also obtain the complex analyticity of pluri-harmonic maps from compact complex manifolds to compact Kaehler manifolds (and Riemannian manifolds) with non-degenerate curvatures, which are analogous to several fundamental results in [28,Siu], [14,Jost-Yau] and [26, Sampson].

Abstract:On Hermitian manifolds, the second Ricci curvature tensors of various metric connections are closely related to the geometry of Hermitian manifolds. By refining the Bochner formulas for any Hermitian complex vector bundle (and Riemannian real vector bundle) with an arbitrary metric connection over a compact Hermitian manifold, we can derive various vanishing theorems for Hermitian manifolds and complex vector bundles by the second Ricci curvature tensors. We will also introduce a natural geometric flow on Hermitian manifolds by using the second Ricci curvature tensor.

Abstract:In this thesis, we consider geometric properties of vector bundles arising from algebraic and Hermitian geometry. On vector bundles in algebraic geometry, such as ample, nef and globally generated vector bundles, we are able to construct positive Hermitian metrics in different senses(e.g. Griffiths-positive, Nakano-positive and dual-Nakano-positive) by L2-method and deduce many new vanishing theorems for them by analytic method instead of the Le Potier-Leray spectral sequence method. On Hermitian manifolds, we find that the second Ricci curvature tensors of various metric connections are closely related to the geometry of Hermitian manifolds. We can derive various vanishing theorems for Hermitian manifolds and also for complex vector bundles over Hermitian manifolds by their second Ricci curvature tensors. We also introduce a natural geometric flow on Hermitian manifolds by using the second Ricci curvature tensor.

Abstract:We treat two quite different problems related to changes of complex structures on Kähler manifolds by using global geometric method. First, by using operators from Hodge theory on compact Kähler manifold, we present a closed explicit extension formula for holomorphic canonical forms in different complex structures. As applications, we give a closed explicit formula for certain canonical sections of Hodge bundles on marked and polarized moduli spaces of projective manifolds, and provide a closed explicit extension formula for holomorphic pluricanonical forms under certain natural conditions. Second, by using the operators in L^2-Hodge theory on Poincaré disk, we present a simple and unified method to solve the Beltrami equations with measurable coefficients for quasi-conformal maps.
Hermitian pluriharmonic maps between almost Hermitian manifolds

Abstract:In the case where both the domain and target manifolds are almost Hermitian, we introduce the concept of Hermitian pluriharmonic maps. We prove that any holomorphic or anti-holomorphic map between almost Hermitian manifolds is Hermitian pluriharmonic. We also establish some monotonicity formulae for the partial energies of Hermitian pluriharmonic maps into Kähler manifolds. As an application, under appropriate assumptions on the growth of the partial energies, some holomorphicity results are proven.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider some generalized holomorphic maps between pseudo-Hermitian manifolds and Hermitian manifolds. By Bochner formulas and comparison theorems, we establish related Schwarz-type results. As corollaries, the Liouville theorem and little Picard theorem for basic CR functions are deduced. Finally, we study CR Caratheodory pseudo-distance on CR manifolds.

Abstract:We observe, utilize dualities in differential equations and differential inequalities, dualities between comparison theorems in differential equations, and obtain dualities in "swapping" comparison theorems in differential equations. These dualities generate comparison theorems on differential equations of mixed types I and II and lead to comparison theorems in Riemannian geometry with analytic, geometric, P.D.E.'s and physical applications. In particular, we prove Hessian comparison theorems and Laplacian comparison theorem under varied radial Ricci curvature or radial curvature assumptions, generalizing and extending the work of Han-Li-Ren-Wei, and Wei. We also extend the notion of function or differential form growth to bundle-valued differential form growth of various types and discuss their interrelationship. These provide tools in extending the notion, integrability and decomposition of generalized harmonic forms to those of bundle-valued generalized harmonic forms, introducing Condition W for bundle-valued differential forms, and proving duality theorem and unity theorem, generalizing the work of Andreotti and Vesentini, and Wei. We then apply Hessian and Laplacian comparison theorems to obtain comparison theorems in mean curvature, generalized sharp Caffarelli-Kohn-Nirenberg type inequalities, embedding theorem for weighted Sobolev spaces, geometric differential-integral inequalities, generalized sharp Hardy type inequalities on Riemannian manifolds, monotonicity formulas and vanishing theorems for differential forms of degree $k$ with values in vector bundles, such as $F$-Yang Mills fields (when $F$ is the identity map, they are Yang-Mills fields), generalized Yang-Mills-Born-Infeld fields on manifolds, Liouville type theorems for $F$-harmonic maps, and Dirichlet problems on starlike domains for vector bundle valued differential $1$-forms and $F$-harminic maps, etc.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce the notion of Hermitian pluriharmonic maps from Hermitian manifold into Kähler manifold. Assuming the domain manifolds possess some special exhaustion functions and the vecotor field V = J M δJ M satisfies some decay conditions, we use stress-energy tensors to establish some monotonicity formulas of partial energies of Hermitian pluriharmonic maps. These monotonicity inequalities enable us to derive some holomorphicity for these Hermitian pluriharmonic maps.

Abstract:. In this paper, we mainly study the so-called isotonic Dirac system over the unbounded domains in Euclidean space of even dimension. In such systems different Dirac operators appear from the left and from the right on the functions considered. We attain the integral representation of isotonic functions satisfying the specific growth condition over the unbounded domains, and show that the classical Martinelli-Bochner integral representation over the unbounded domains for the holomorphic functions of several complex variables and for Hermitean monogenic functions both satisfying the specific growth condition may be derived from it.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider some generalized holomorphic maps between pseudo-Hermitian manifolds. These maps include the CR maps and the transversally holomorphic maps. In terms of some sub-Laplacian or Hessian type Bochner formulas, and comparison theorems in the pseudo-Hermitian version, we are able to establish several Schwarz type results for both the CR maps and the transversally holomorphic maps between pseudo-Hermitian manifolds. Finally, we also discuss the CR hyperbolicity problem for pseudo-Hermitian manifolds.

Abstract:Contact Riemannian manifolds, with not necessarily integrable complex structures, are the generalization of pseudohermitian manifolds in CR geometry. The Tanaka–Webster–Tanno connection on such a manifold plays the role of Tanaka–Webster connection in the pseudohermitian case. We prove the contact Riemannian version of the pseudohermitian Bochner-type formula, and generalize the CR Lichnerowicz theorem about the sharp lower bound for the first nonzero eigenvalue of the sub-Laplacian to the contact Riemannian case.

Abstract:In this paper, we use the canonical connection instead of Levi-Civita connection to study the smooth maps between almost Hermitian manifolds, especially, the pseudoholomorphic ones. By using the Bochner formulas, we obtian the $C^2$-estimate of canonical second fundamental form, Liouville type theorems of pseudoholomorphic maps, pseudoholomorphicity of pluriharmonic maps, and Simons integral inequality of pseudoholomorphic isometric immersion.

Abstract:Let (phi, psi) be a Dirac-harmonic maps from a Riemannian manifold into another Riemannian manifold We call (phi, psi) trivial if phi is harmonic By using Bochner-type formula and extending Chen-Jost-Li-Wang' result, we give some sufficient conditions for a Dirac-harmonic map (phi, psi) to be trivial. We also give a structure theorem of Dirac-harmonic maps from a Riemann surface generalizing result previously only known in the case when source manifold is a two sphere.

Abstract:We study analytic properties of harmonic maps from Riemannian polyhedra into CAT($\kappa$) spaces for $\kappa\in\{0,1\}$. Locally, on each top-dimensional face of the domain, this amounts to studying harmonic maps from smooth domains into CAT($\kappa$) spaces. We compute a target variation formula that captures the curvature bound in the target, and use it to prove an $L^p$ Liouville-type theorem for harmonic maps from admissible polyhedra into convex CAT($\kappa$) spaces. Another consequence we derive from the target variation formula is the Eells-Sampson Bochner formula for CAT(1) targets.

Hermitian-Einstein equations on noncompact manifolds

Abstract:This paper first investigates solvability of Hermitian-Einstein equation on a Hermitian holomorphic vector bundle on the complement of an arbitrary closed subset in a compact complex manifold. The uniqueness of Hermitian-Einstein metrics on a Zariski open subset in a compact Kähler manifold was only figured out by Takuro Mochizuki recently, the second part of this paper gives an affirmative answer to a question proposed by Takuro Mochizuki and based on which it leads to an alternative approach to the unique issue. We also prove stability from solvability of Hermitian-Einstein equation, which together with the classical existence result of Carlos Simpson in particular establish a Kobayashi-Hitchin bijective correspondence. The argument is also effective for uniqueness result and Kobayashi-Hitchin bijective correspondence on $\mathbb{C}$, as well as on non-Kähler and semi-stable contexts.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce the stress-energy tensors of the partial energies E'(f) and E"(f) of maps between Kaehler manifolds. Assuming the domain manifolds poss some special exhaustion functions, we use these stress-energy tensors to establish some monotonicity formulae of the partial energies of pluriharmonic maps into any Kaehler manifolds and harmonic maps into Kaehler manifolds with strongly semi-negative curvature respectively. These monotonicity inequalities enable us to derive some holomorphicity and Liouville type results for these pluriharmonic maps and harmonic maps. We also use the stress-energy tensors to investigate the holomorphic extension problem of CR maps.

Abstract:We establish an integral formula on a smooth, precompact domain in a Kahler manifold. We apply this formula to study holomorphic extension of CR functions. Using this formula we prove an isoperimetric inequality in terms of a positive lower bound for the Hermitian curvature of the boundary. Combining with a Minkowski type formula on the complex hyperbolic space we prove that any closed, embedded hypersurface of constant mean curvature must be a geodesic sphere, provided the hypersurface is Hopf. A similar result is established on the complex projective space.

Abstract:We present several analogies between convex geometry and the theory of holomorphic line bundles on smooth projective varieties or K\"ahler manifolds. We study the relation between positive products and mixed volumes. We define and study a Blaschke addition for divisor classes and mixed divisor classes, and prove new geometric inequalities for divisor classes. We also reinterpret several classical convex geometry results in the context of algebraic geometry: the Alexandrov body construction is the convex geometry version of divisorial Zariski decomposition; Minkowski's existence theorem is the convex geometry version of the duality between the pseudo-effective cone of divisors and the movable cone of curves.
