"Frontier Defense V.S.Maritime Defense" and Geopolitical Strategy Choice of Current China

Abstract:This paper focuses on a historical review of the debate about Frontier V.S.Maritime Defense in the later Ching Dynasty.After the detailed analysis and discussion,the conclusion is that Frontier Defense was less vital than Maritime Defense at that time when geopolitics was taken into account.Besides,the Debate itself also sheds some light on nowadays security strategy choice of China,which tells that Maritime Defense still stands out as a key element in the Chinese national security strategy with the development of national interests.
