Abstract:Chris Anderson first coined the The Long Tail Theory in an October 2004 Wired magazine article to describe certain business and economic models such as Amazon.com.Businesses with distribution power can sell a greater volume of otherwise hard-to-find items at smaller volumes than of popular items at large volumes.The Long Tail Theory has enlightenments to the reformation of library in the contemporary China.The developing of libraries' information resource construction and service thinking and modes should absorb the nourishment from the The Long Tail Theory.
