The mechanism of technological innovation in the environment of knowledge agglomeration and uncertainty

Abstract:Focused on the theme that which way is more efficient to allocate innovation resources in the environment of knowledge agglomeration and uncertainty,this paper built a research model in which organizational modularity and knowledge base impact innovation performance under the moderate variables of knowledge agglomeration and uncertainty,and conducted an empirical test with a sample of high technology companies.The results show that the modular organization pattern is an effective way to allocate innovation resources in the environment of knowledge agglomeration and uncertainty.Beside,knowledge agglomeration and uncertainty moderate the relationship between dynamic capabilities and innovation performance;the dynamic capabilities that firms' innovation activities rely on are decided by their organizational modularity and knowledge base,while they have nothing to do the environment;knowledge agglomeration is significant for the formation of firms' knowledge base,and increasing the level of organizational modularity is one effective way for firms responding to the environmental uncertainty.
