Abstract:In this paper, we study the asymptotic behavior of solutions of a non-autonomous delay differential system. It is shown that every solutions tends to zero provided a certain matrix derived from the coefficients and the delays of the system is a M-matrix.

Abstract:We consider a non-autonomous Lotka–Volterra competition system with distributed delays but without instantaneous negative feedbacks (i.e., pure delay systems). We establish some 3/2-type and M-matrix-type criteria for global attractivity of the positive equilibrium of the system, which generalise and improve the existing ones.

Abstract:A class of nonlinear delay difference equations are considered and some sufficient conditions for global attractivity of solutions of the equation are obtained. It is shown that the stability properties, both local and global, of the equilibrium of the delay equation can be derived from those of an associated nondelay equation.

Criteria for global attractivity are also derived by means of Lyapunov functionals. As a corollary, we show that if the delayed system is dissipative and the coefficient matrix is VL-stable, then the global attractivity of the unique equilibrium is maintained provided the delays are small. Estimates on the allowable sizes of delays are also given. Applications to the Hopfield neural networks with discrete delays are included.

Abstract:We consider a periodic Lotka–Volterra competition system without instantaneous negative feedbacks (i.e., pure-delay systems)(*)x˙i(t)=xi(t)[ri(t)−∑j=1naij(t)xj(t−τij(t))],i=1,2,…,n. We establish some 3/2-type criteria for global attractivity of a positive periodic solution of the system, which generalize the well-known Wright's 3/2 criteria for the autonomous delay logistic equation, and thereby, address the open problem proposed by both Kuang [Y. Abstract:In this paper, we are concerned with a non-autonomous competing model with time delays and feedback controls. Applying the comparison theorem of differential equations and by constructing a suitable Lyapunov functional, some sufficient conditions which guarantee the existence of a unique globally asymptotically stable nonnegative almost periodic solution of the system are established. An example with its numerical simulations is given to illustrate the feasibility of our results.

Abstract:In this paper, a class of nonlinear stochastic neutral differential equations with delays is investigated. By using the properties of $${\mathcal{M}}$$ -matrix, a differential-difference inequality is established. Basing on the differential-difference inequality, we develop a $${\mathcal{L}}$$ -operator-difference inequality such that it is effective for stochastic neutral differential equations. By using the $${\mathcal{L}}$$ -operator-difference inequality, we obtain the global attracting and invariant sets of nonlinear stochastic neutral differential equations with delays. In addition, we derive the sufficient condition ensuring the exponential p-stability of the zero solution of nonlinear stochastic neutral differential equations with delays. One example is presented to illustrate the effectiveness of our conclusion.

Abstract:This paper studies the asymptotic stability of the linear non-autonomous difference equations with fixed delay. It is shown that the difference system is asymptotically stable if and only if the norm of the limit for the coefficient matrix is less than 1 under some conditions. Furthermore, the discretization of the pantograph equation by Runge–Kutta methods with variable stepsize is analyzed. Finally, some numerical experiments are made to demonstrate the main conclusions.

Abstract:In this paper we prove that locally asymptotically equivalent non-autonomous dynamical systems share the same semi-uniform global attractor. Then we apply this abstract result to nonlinear differential equations. In particular, we show that the semi-uniform global behavior of differential equations with time-varying delays is robust with respect to certain types of perturbations in time delays.

Abstract:We first prove the existence of a compact positively invariant set which exponentially attracts any bounded set for abstract multi-valued semidynamical systems. Then, we apply the abstract theory to handle retarded ordinary differential equations and lattice dynamical systems, as well as reaction-diffusion equations with infinite delays. We do not assume any Lipschitz condition on the nonlinear term, just a continuity assumption together with growth and dissipative conditions, so that uniqueness of the Cauchy problem fails to be true.
