Abstract:This paper uses tools of information visualization to analyze the research papers of library science in CSSCI and display the research focuses,knowledge sources,and cooperation of institutions in recent 10 years.The results show that the research focuses include digital libraries,academic libraries,public libraries,information resources,information services,knowledge management,etc;the knowledge sources come from the books/papers of basic theory research,cataloging and classification;the cooperation can be only found in a small number of institutions,with low whole tightness and some geopolitical features.

Abstract:This study proposes a method to automatically establish a narrow-sense knowledge structure for Chinese Library and Information Science (CLIS) using data from the Chinese Social Science Citation Index. The method applies multi-level clustering, using ontological ideas as theoretical guidance and ontology learning techniques as technical means. Knowledge categories generated are checked for cohesion and coupling through hierarchical clustering analysis and multidimensional scaling analysis in order to verify the accuracy and rationality of the narrow-sense knowledge structure of CLIS. Finally, the narrow-sense knowledge structure is expanded to a broad sense. Using scholars as objects in examples, this study discusses the semantic associations between topic knowledge and the other academic objects in CLIS from the micro-, meso-, and macro-levels, so as to fully explore the broad-sense knowledge structure of CLIS for knowledge analysis and applications.

Abstract:The library in the institutions of higher learning is the special stack room to collect literature of its own.It is of great significance to show the result of running school,to keep up complete data and to form a characteristic collection.By taking University of Zhejiang Science and Technology(ZUST)as an example,we analyze the existing problems in the library construction of the newly-built institutions of higher learning and define the scope of the library collection.Thus several methods are advanced to strengthen both its direction and initiative to turn the data base resources into the school's special collection resources as well as to grasp the timing node to collect library materials.

Abstract:According to continuous development of information technology, it is needed to make convergence of other disciplines such as humanities and area studies. Among convergence fields related to information technology and humanities/area studies, electronic cultural atlas represents various digitalized cultural information on electronic map using spatial data such as points, lines, and polygons through time, spatial, and subject axises. Knowledge map is to represent special academic information based on electronic cultural atlas. In details, knowledge map can provide integrated information sharing and spread because academic information associated with electronic cultural atlas and data related to per subjects, regions, and period become organically connected. Therefore, knowledge map may be utilized to promote scholastic research and diffuse research result. In this paper, we describe basic concept and composition of knowledge map and propose design method to construct knowledge map.

Abstract:With the rapid development of science and technology, knowledge update is accelerating, which puts forward higher requirements for teachers and students in Colleges and universities, and needs to grasp the latest development trends of curriculum knowledge related fields faster, more comprehensive and more accurate. Many schools have digitized their educational resources. However, the traditional sharing of educational resources lacks a unified knowledge representation structure, which makes the sharing and reuse of learning resources unsatisfactory. Curriculum is the core of school knowledge teaching. It evaluates the curriculum system and discipline system in order to achieve certain teaching objectives. Curriculum knowledge includes explicit knowledge and tacit knowledge. Knowledge map is a kind of model which can describe knowledge in semantic and knowledge level. Its purpose is to acquire, organize and present knowledge in a general and intuitive way, to search and match knowledge quickly, so as to improve the utilization of knowledge by learners and knowledge workers. Curriculum knowledge has obvious ontology characteristics, and there are many inconveniences and shortcomings in the presentation of traditional knowledge map. Using ontology technology to construct curriculum knowledge map can not only reflect the relationship between knowledge modules, but also realize the mining and representation of more knowledge relations and types such as tacit knowledge to a certain extent.

Abstract:The paper attempts to integrate all kinds of CSSCI academic resources into a whole in object-oriented form by means of ontology's ability of semantic description of academic knowledge units and their relations,and constructs the CSSCI academic knowledge map. Its essence is to realize semantic annotation of academic resources data and complete the domain knowledge description under the guidance of the conceptual model of the ontology.

Abstract:The article aims at the introduction to the researches on knowledge visualization abroad and provides references for domestic researchers. Foreign literatures from WOS platform were analyzed by bibliometrical methods and mapping domain knowledge of Citespace and Pajek. It was discovered that the research on knowledge visualization abroad involved many theories and methods in various disciplines. There were three research dimensions including technology realization,psychological cognition and knowledge management. The frontier researches have appeared in recent years involving four subjects: the construction of knowledge bases and knowledge service platforms,the application of knowledge visualization in education,psychological cognition mechanisms in knowledge visualization,knowledge management and decision- making. The application prospect of knowledge visualization in the discipline of library and information science is vast. Domestic researchers should reinforce the study of the cognitive mechanism of knowledge visualization.

Abstract:With the rapid development of the scale of complex network,such as WWW network,social network,the traditional way of text and form to describe network can not meet the requirement of analyzing and managing the growing power of network data,but as an effective method to assist us in understanding the structure of networks and mining useful information,visible technology are widely applied.Choosing the literature of the theme on the complex network visualization in Web of Science database as the studying object,map out the knowledge maps of the reach field by using Citespace.The result showed the major countries、institutions and Core Journal;revealed the evolution paths of complex network visualization research from theory research to empirical research,exploring methods to the practical application;pointed out the reach hotspots were visualization tool,algorithm etc;the reach fronts were social network analysis,data mining etc.This paper can provide valuable reference for faster and better understanding the intellectual bases and research progress of the complex network visualization.

Abstract:Knowledge network construction (KNC) is the essence of dynamic knowledge architecture, and is helpful to illustrate ubiquitous knowledge service in digital libraries (DLs). The authors explore its theoretical foundations and basic rules to elucidate the basic principles of KNC in DLs. The results indicate that world general connection, small-world phenomenon, relevance theory, unity and continuity of science development have been the production tool, architecture aim and scientific foundation of KNC in DLs. By analyzing both the characteristics of KNC based on different types of knowledge linking and the relationships between different forms of knowledge and the appropriate ways of knowledge linking, the basic principle of KNC is summarized as follows: let each kind of knowledge linking form each shows its ability, each kind of knowledge manifestation each answer the purpose intended in practice, and then subjective knowledge network and objective knowledge network are organically combined. This will lay a solid theoretical foundation and provide an action guide for DLs to construct knowledge networks.

Abstract:This paper makes statistical analysis and bibliometric analysis,via the statistics of bilingual education research papers included in CSSCI(1998-2011),from these aspects including age distribution of literature,periodicals distribution,topic distribution,institutional distribution of the core authors and authors,which determine the core authors,core journals of bilingual education and research law in the field of social sciences and reveal an overview and the major research topic of the research of social sciences on bilingual education;and applies the method of literature co-citation analysis and information visualization technique of dynamic network analysis to the mapping of scientific knowledge map in the field of bilingual teaching in China,showing the key nodes of the bilingual teaching and research,as well as the important roles played by the experts represented by the node and their work on the development of this field,displaying the knowledge base and research frontier of the bilingual education on residents in China,and then providing ideas for the bilingual teaching and research in China,and promoting the theory and empirical studies of the relevant research fields.

Abstract:Using the library and information science journals during 2006-2007 in CSSCI as data sources,the paper reveals the citation structure implied in these journals by applying SNA.Firstly,through measuring density,average distance and compactness,the citation network is proved to be a compact and coherent one.Secondly,centrality analysis recognizes the'core'and the'broker'in the local network.Lastly,every journal in citation network is labeled'knowledge source','transfer station'or'knowledge storage'respectively according to the results of structural equivalence analysis.The research results provide a quantitative support for distribution and evaluation of academic journals.

Abstract:Abstract In the era of knowledge networking, the structure and production mode of knowledge are constantly changing. This article creatively introduces the knowledge mapping method in design research, and based on the perspective of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) to compile literature, uses word frequency analysis, co-word analysis, and citation analysis to construct knowledge graphs of design science. This study graphically shows the distribution and flow law of knowledge within design discipline and probes into the research frontier and evolution trend of Chinese design science.

Abstract:In previous studies, full-text analyses and mining techniques have not been combined to identify and trace changes in the knowledge trends of library science over the past 20 years (1997–2016). Thus, to grasp the knowledge trends of library science at a fine-grained level, this study analyzes full-text journal articles from six top-ranked library science journals by applying text-mining techniques such as co-word analysis, text summarization, and topic modeling. Visualization tools were used to map the knowledge structure of library science. The findings indicate that, during the past 20 years, library science has developed into an interdisciplinary knowledge structure that integrates librarianship topics with a range of other fields, generating major topics that include the academic library, the digital library, research methodology, library marketing, information retrieval, digital information, document citation, and so on. In the past ten years, the library science discipline has focused increasingly on research methodology and evaluation and become more concerned with digital information management.
