Abstract:Impacts of protein and fat contents on the genetic correlations between glucosinolate content(GC) and other quality traits in rapeseed were analyzed by using unconditonal and conditional methods related to genetic effects from the diploid embryo nuclear genes, cytoplasm genes and diploid maternal plant nuclear genes. It is found that there is significant relationship between GC and protein content(PC) or fat content(FC) of rapeseed, and the conditional analysis method can be used to exclude the influences of PC and FC for further revealing the actual genetic relationships between glucosinolates and other quality traits. The conditional analysis reveals that the significant negative phenotypic and genotypic relationships between GC and palmitic acid content or the significant negative genotypic relationship between GC and linoleic acid content observed for the unconditional analysis are changed to significant positive relationships from conditional analysis after excluding the influences of PC.By excluding the influences of FC from conditional analysis, the significant positive phenotypic and genotypic relationships from the unconditional analysis between GC and eicosenoic acid content are translated to significant negative. Some significant phenotypic and/or genotypic relationships at the unconditional analysis are changed to non-significant at the conditional analysis between GC and erucic acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid or linolenic acid contents, which indicates that the level of PC or FC of rapeseed can affect the correlations between GC and the components of fatty acids. After eliminating the influences of PC or FC,the correlative components from different genetic systems reveal that the genetic effects of embryo, cytoplasm and maternal plant can significantly affect the conditional relationships of pairwise traits between the conditional GC and the fatty acids, especially for the embryo main effect, the cytoplasmic main effect and the maternal additive interaction effects.
