Abstract:Objective: To evaluate the effects of electromyographic biofeedback combined with partial body weight-supported treadmill training on lower extremity motor function of patients after stroke. Methods: Forty hemiplegic patients in stroke recovery phase were randomly divided into treatment group and control group(n=20).Patients in both groups received routine neural medical treatment and partial body weight-supported treadmill training.Patients in treatment group also received lower extremity electromyographic biofeedback therapy with nerve function reconstruction instrument AM-800.All treatments lasted for 4 weeks.Functional evaluation was performed before and after treatments.Neurological deficit scale,Fugl-Meyer Assessment(FMA) and functional independence measure(FIM) were adopted in the evaluating process. Results: Significant improvements were revealed in both group after treatment according to neurological deficit scale,FMA and FIM(P<0.05),with significantly more prominent in neurological deficit scale and FMA in treatment group(P<0.05).Conclusion: Electromyographic biofeedback combined with partial body weight-supported treadmill training can improve lower extremity motor function and reduce neurological deficit in patients with stroke.
