Abstract:Volatile oils from the leaves of Litsea baviensis were analyzed by GC-MS,and 19 constituents were identified,which was different from those of other Litsea species including Litsea populifolia and Litsea cubeba.

Abstract:Objective:To compare and analyse the chemical compositions and their relative contents of volatile oils from Citrus Bergamot extracted by steam distillation method and supercritical fluid extraction(SFE) method.Methods:Gas chromatography and mass spectrometry(GC-MS) combining computer retrieval were used for separating and identifying the chemical compositions of volatile oils from Citrus Bergamot.Chromatographic peak area normalization method was used for calculating their relative content of compositions.Results:18 chemical compositions were obtained from Bergamot volatile oils by steam distillation method and 16 chemical compositions were identified by SFE method.The main components isolated by both methods were D-limonene.The steam distillation method showed its content was 57.87%and the SFE method reported 81.18%.In addition to D-limonene,the steam distillation also identified 25.12%(+)-2-carene,but it was not obtained by SFE method.Conclusion:The results of the two extraction methods varied,however both identified the main component as D-limonene.The percentage of D-limonene was found to be higher with the SFE method.

Abstract:Objective: To compare the difference of volatile components in bergamot by different sample collection methods.Methods: Volatile components in bergamot were collected by headspace sampling and steam distillation and analyzed by GC-MS.Results: There were some differences between the above methods. There were 19 components identified from extract by steam distillation; whereas 17 components were identified from extract by headspace sampling. There were 13 common components a-mong the identified compounds in the samples collected with different method and the relative contents of the two most impor-tant components were basically identical. Conclusion: More variety of components can be identified in the samples collected with headspace sampling. More volatile components could be identified if the two collection methods were combined.

Abstract:The volatile oil from Vaccinium bracteatum Thumb.leaves was analyzed by GC-MS.65 peaks were separated and 49 compounds were identified,which represented about 91.94 % of the total content.The main chemical constituents were terpenes 54.75 %,open chain alkanes 6.93 %,cycloparaffins 20.13 %,olefins 0.60 %,aromatics 1.60 %,phenol,ether and alcohol 3.39 %,aldehyde and ketone 2.14 %,ester 1.15 %,heterocyclic compounds 0.47 % and amines 0.78 %.Nerolidol 20.01 %,(Z,Z,Z)-1,5,9,9-tetramethyl-1,4,7-cycloundecatriene 17.99 % and caryophyllene 9.59 % were the main components in the identified terpenes.12 kinds of industrial production flavors were found from volatile oil in Vaccinium bracteatum leaves,and five components have insecticide and antibacterial activity.

Abstract:The volatile oils from leaves of different Myrica rubra varieties were analyzed and compared by GC-MS.The forteen same components were detected in the three kinds of Myrica rubra leaves.The contents of the same components accounted for 53.3%,48.4%,55.5% of Muyemei,Heitanmei,Dongkuimei overall volatile oils repectively.The essential oil contained multiple terpenes in the Myrica rubra leaves.The components had a role of preservation of Myrica rubra fruit.The relative content of terpenes in the Dongkuimei leaves was the highest.This could explaine why the period of keep-freshness of Dongkuimei fruits was relatively longer.The relative content of aroma substance in the Muyemei leaves was the highest.This was the reason why the aroma of Muyemei fruits was the most full-bodied.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE: Study on the chemical constituents of essential oil from the leaves of Litsea mollia Hemsl. METHODS: The essential oil was obtained by steam distillation. The chemical compositions were separated and identified by GC-MS. The relative contents in the essential oil were determined by area nomalization. RESULTS: 41 chemical constituents were separated and identified representing 91.5% of the total contents. CONCLUSION: Monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes are the major chemial constituents in the oil from the leaves of Litsea mollia Hemsl. They are very different from those of the essential oil from the fruits of Litsea mollia Hemsl.

Abstract:In this paper,volatile oil from the Cinnamomum camphora leaves and branches were obtained by steam distillation.And the yield of their volatile oils were 1.55% and 0.336% respectively.The two essential oils were analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and the identified components were compared.They have the same main compositions,but different in relative mass.30 compositions were identified,amounting to 94.45% and 89.73% of the total area of the peaks respectively.Terpene is the major chemical constituent in the volatile oil.

Abstract:Objective To investigate the chemical constituents of volatile oil from Eucalyptus urophylla S.T.Blakely leaves collected in Guangdong Province of China.Methods The volatile oil was extracted with steam distillation method,and analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS) method.The relative amount of each constituent was calculated by peak area normalization.Results Thirty-eight constituents in volatile oil from Eucalyptus urophylla S.T.Blakely leaves in Guangdong Province were identified,amounting to 97.76% of the total area of the peaks.The principal constituents were eucalyptol(38.13%),alpha-pinene(10.71%),menthol(9.79%),alpha-terpineol(7.41%),neomenthol(5.51%),(R)-citronellol(5.22%),alpha-terpinyl acetate(5.03%) and so on.Conclusion The constituents of the volatile oil from Eucalyptus urophyllaS.T.Blakely leaves in Guangdong Province were successfully identified.Compared with the reports,our findings suggest great similarity and little differences,which provides the foundation for further comprehensive utilization of the volatile oil.

Abstract:[Objective] The research aimed to study the chemical constituents of the essential oil from whole herb of Juglans regia Linn..[Method] The essential oil was obtained by steam distillation.Chemical components were separated and identified by GC-MS.The relative content of each component was determined by area normalization.[Result] 49 volatile compounds were isolated and identified for the first time,representing 87.12% of the total oil.The main compounds with the content of over 3.00%(V/V) were as follows: Cis-3-Hexenol(8.62%),4-Hydroxy-3-methoxystyrene(3.84%),(6E)-3,7,11-trimethyl-1,6,10-dodecatrien-3-ol(45.14%) and farnesyl alcohol(5.54%).[Conclusion] The research provided reference for the further development and utilization of the leaves of Juglans regia Linn..

Abstract:OBJECTIVE The study can provide scientific theory for extraction and cultivation technologies of Guizhou Litsea cubeba.METHODS With steam distillation extraction method,cubeba fruits essential oil was extracted from the wild and cultivated fruits cubeba.The optimum conditions were determined by orthogonal test methods.The qualitative and quantitative analysis of cubeba fruits essential oil were carried out with GC-MS.RESULTS The optimum conditions were concluded by comparing the results of orthogonal test methods.And chemical components and relative contents were identified by GC-MS.CONCLUSION The chemical components of the wild and cultivated cubeba fruits essential oil were similar.And the cultivated Litsea cubeba contains much more essential oil than the wild.So it can be cultivated widely.

Abstract:The chemical constituents of volatile oil from leaf of Syringa oblata L. were analy zed.by GC-MS-Computer technology.About 90 compounds in all were found,among them 25 compounds were identified with the computer standard spectra. Three constituents showed relatively higher quantity: 2-methyl-1,4-pentadiene, phenethanol and vinyl benzene,whose relative quantity was 29.29%,2.38% and 1.86%,respectively.

Abstract:[Objective] The aim was to study the chemical constituents of the essential oil from leaf of Eucommia ulmoides Oliv..[Method] The essential oil was obtained by steam distillation.The specific chemical components were separated and identified by GC-MS.The relative content of each component was determined by area normalization.[Result] Thirty-eight volatile compounds were isolated and identified,accounting for 96.18% of the total oil.The main compounds with contents over 3%(V/V) were as follows: Cis-3-Hexenol(19.61%);3-Furylmethanol(57.02%);Phytol(6.37%).[Conclusion] The method could provide scientific basis for further development and utilization of medicinal value of E.ulmoides.

Abstract:Objective:To analyze the constituents of the essential oil from the leaves of Ledum palustre L.var.angustum E.Busch,and to speculate the mass frag-mentation rules of its main components.Method:The essential oil was extracted by water-steam distillation and analyzed by GC-MS,relative content of compositions for calculating with peak area normalization method.The components were determined with nor-malization method,and identified by GC-MS and co-artificial searches.Result:Thirty-one components were identified.The mass frag-mentation rules of monoterpene and its derivatives were side-chain cleavage then ring-opening.Conclusion:This study provided scientific foundation for the quality control and standard establishment of L.palustre L.var.angustum E.Busch by analyzing its essential oil components and speculating the mass frag-mentation rules of monoterpene and its derivatives.

Abstract:[Objective] To research the chemical constituents of essential oils from fresh and dry products of Litsea glutinosa (Lour.) C. B. Rob. [Method] The essential oils in L. glutinosa were obtained by using steam distillation, and identified by GC-MS. [Result] A total of 33 compounds were identified from the oils of fresh leaves, accounting for 91.01% of the total oils. Among them, the main components were β-caryophyllene(22.83%), β-ocimene(7.19%), phytol(6.90%), β-pinene(6.79%), α-pinene(5.97%), caryophyllene oxide(5.95%) and so on. A total of 42 compounds were identified from the essential oils of dry leaves, representing 93.89% of the total oils. They were mainly the β-caryophyllene (23.22%), β-ocimene (7.78%), bicyclogermacrene (7.24%), α-caryophyllene (5.89%), α-pinene(5.42%) and so on. Chemical composition analysis of the essential oils showed that there were only 30 common compounds in two kinds of essential oils. [Conclusion] This method was accurate and reliable. This research provided scientific basis for the establishment of quality standard, as well as the further development and utilization of L. glutinosa.

Abstract:ObjectiveTo study the volatile constituents from the leaves of Castanea mollissima Bl.MethodsThe volatile constituents from the leaves of Castanea mollissima Bl.were extracted and determined by headspace solid-phase microextraction(HS-SPME) coupled with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS).Results22 volatile constituents were separated and identified.The main constituents of the volatile constituents from the leaves of Castanea mollissima Bl.were alcohol,hydrocarbon,alkene and aldehyde and the contents were 60.33%,23.09%,8.67% and 6.14%,respectively.ConclusionTwenty-two volatile constituents were obtained from this phant for the first time.There are 11 compounds with contents over 3%.Among them,3,7-dimethyl-2,6-octadien-1-ol has the highest content(27.34%)

Abstract:[Objective]The aim was to study the components of volatile oil from leaves of Eriobotrya japonica(Thunb.) Lindl.[Method]The essential oil was obtained by steam distillation.According to GC-MS technology,and combining with computer retrieval,the specific chemical composition was separated and identified.The relative content of each component was determined by peak area normalization.[Result]Forty-seven volatile compounds were isolated and identified,which accounted for 86.33% of the total oil.The main compounds with higher contents were as follows: β-sesquiphellandrene(4.14%),iso-eucalyptus oil(5.07%),cyclohexanone(5.25%),cis-3-hexene-1-alcohol(5.30%),Myrcene D(5.35%),10,10-dimethyl-2,6-bi(methylene)-bicyclo undecane(7.95%),salicylic acid methyl ester(11.72%)and so on.[Conclusion]GC-MS analysis was used to identify the chemical components of volatile oil from leaves of Eriobotrya japonica(Thunb.) Lindl,which had the characteristics as follows: easily operative technology and easy and simple to handle,all those provided the basic science information for the deep development of the leaves of Eriobotrya japonica(Thunb.) Lindl.

Abstract:To study chemical constituents of volatile oil from Tilia mongolica,the volatile oil was extracted from Tilia mongolica leaves by steam distillation and the chemical constituents were analyzed by GC-MS.Forty five constituents have been identified which accounted for over 80.35% of total volatile oil.The major constituents were hexanal,2-hexen-1-ol,kaur-16-ene,benzyl alcohol etc.

Abstract:The chemical components in volatile oil of the leaves of Zanthoxylum ovalifolium var.spinifolium(a kind of chinese prickly ash) were studied in this paper.A combined method of distillation with solvent extraction was used for the separation and collection of the components from the leaf sample.Identification was carried out by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.67 components were separated and 37 components were identified in the oil,among them,the major components were the terpenoids and its derivatives,including 19.31% of limonene,15.26% of linalool and 13.60% of sabinene.

Abstract:The volatile components in leaves of Lindera communis Hemsl.were analysized by SPME-GC-MS.25 compounds were identified,which accounted for 92.55%of total volatile components.The main compounds in the volatile components are myrcene(18.15%),beta-pinene (12.08%),alpha-pinene(11.94%)and beta-caryophyllene(8.64%).

Abstract:OBJECTIVE: To analyze the chemical compositions of the volatile oil in the fruits of Litsea chingpingensis. METHODS: The volatile oil was extracted by wet distillation and its constituents were analyzed by GC-MS. The relative percentage of each constituent was determined by GC area normalization method. RESULTS: A total of 24 chemical compounds were identified, which included β-Citral (28.32%), α-Citral (22.28%), Cinene (12.15%), Nerol (4.98%), 1,8-Cineole (4.67%), and 6-Methyl-5-hepten-2-one (4.35%) etc. CONCLUSION: This study serves as a scientific basis for the further development and utilization of Litsea chingpingensis.
