Abstract:This paper elaborates the development of spatial structure in our country.Because the forms and types are colorful and incessantly innovating,it is necessary to divide spatial structure by component elements.After the 21th century,the development of our nation’s spatial structure comes into a new period that the application range and fields for spatial structure extend continuously.Besides the large-span public buildings such as gymnasiums and airports,there are extensive and innovative applications including large-scale railway stations,stations awning without column,bridges and high-rise buildings for spatial structure.About the international cooperation,it is suggested to have an open mind and optimistic view towards the fact that that architecture scheme for our nation’s spatial structures are frequently led by foreign companies.China is already a country with a great deal of the top of the world spatial structures,thus it is our responsibility to strive to create even better and advanced spatial structures.Some issues which we should pay more attention are pointed out.

Abstract:Architectural energy-saving has become a hotspot in the world. Energy-saving for the existing public buildings could not only reduce energy consumption effectively, but also improve both outdoor environment and indoor healthy comfort to advance the quality of life and work, so it is a work of great significance. Combining with study process on energy-saving renovation for existing public buildings at home and abroad, this article analyzes the status of energy consumption in China and its significance to hope that the renovation work could be done smoothly through the cooperation of users, designers and government.

Abstract:In recent years, with the continuous development of urbanization in China, construction equipment and technology in the field of building are developing rapidly. China has made much progress in this field, but there is also a gap in comparison. Rapid growth needs to follow the appropriate direction of development. In the future, China will further accelerate the speed of urban intensive construction, so it is of great significance to find a correct direction for the development of Chinese cities. Based on this purpose, this paper summarizes the current situation and rules of building equipment and technology in the view of the rapid development of modern architecture and related practical achievements. This article further analyses the building technology and equipment from the aspects of social culture, political economy, laws and regulations, and discipline development. The conclusion is that in the future development of buildings, the energy saving of construction equipment and technology will become an important symbol of construction technology progress. Finally, this paper puts forward the problems existing in the development of construction equipment and technology in China and the ways to solve these problems.

Abstract:Since the 1980s, China has accumulated nearly 30 years of experience in modern urban design, during which time, large-scale urban design (LSUD), triggered by government-led rapid urbanisation in the late 1990s, arose as a main mission of physical planning. To analyse and interpret this special planning phenomenon in China, the paper traces the evolution of Chinese LSUD and examines it under specific phases of China's socio-economic development, so as to first reveal the driving forces, various types, design methods and implementation approaches of China's LSUD projects. By contextualising urban design within China's unique statutory urban planning and design system, the paper then summarises the main gains and losses of physical planning development in China and puts forward some suggestions for transforming China's physical planning and design in the future.

Abstract:In order to ensure China, a populous country, to develop in a sustainable way, it is an urgent task to disseminate the concept of sustainability and put it into practice for urban construction. However, it is impossible for China to simply copy the experiences of developed countries, since China has the higher population and building density and less availability of reusable energy per square meter floor area. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the sustainable building technologies applicable to various climate regions, economic conditions, and residential customs in China, as well as sustainable to the most occupants and owners. Based on an introduction of the current situation of the development of construction industry and the energy consumption of buildings in China, this paper analyses the requirements, characteristics, standards for sustainable housing and urban construction, and recommends series of technical approaches along with different phases of sustainable design and construction, which strengthen a good cooperation among researchers, designers and constructors of different majors including architecture, planning, building physics, building services, and so on. Moreover, some issues, which need further research and especially handling, are pointed out along with the recommendations. Finally, policy issue related with the sustainable development of urban construction in China is discussed.

Abstract:Large-space structures, which are mostly used to be public constructions and industrial buildings, have been developing rapidly in China. However, traditional fire-resisting method in codes and regulations in China nowadays can not be applied to large-space structures as the structural systems thereof are sophisticated or sometimes there are special aesthetic demands on architectural employment. Nowadays, fire-resisting performance-based design method has already been the trend all over the world. In China, some constructions with higher importance grade, large space, and some ones which predictive codes could not meet their needs have already adopted this design method, and good effects have been achieved. This paper will primarily give summarizations of basic steps of this method applied in China. Then two successful engineering cases adopting performance-based design method have been introduced and discussed. Finally, analysis on deficiencies of this method was made and some suggestions were proposed for further development.

Abstract:Due to the important role of shaping city images and characteristics,increasing urban soft strength and popularity in the urban space development,large-scale public constructions are increasingly becoming the hot spots in China's urban construction.However,because of their unreasonable setting in the process of building and using,the function and role of the large-scale public constructions can not be brought into full play.Based on the concept defining of large-scale urban public constructions,from the angle of their influencing spatial factors,taking the setting of Aoti Centre in Nanjing for an example,the paper tries to do an in-depth study on the interaction between the setting of large-scale public constructions and urban space development,which can provide some theoretical evidence for the setting of large-scale public constructions.

Abstract:With the continuous development of the Chinese economy and the rapid development of large public buildings, the application of steel structures in large buildings is gradually increasing. The use of steel structures is crucial for meeting the needs of large-span, super high-rise buildings, rapid construction, and achieving sustainable development of buildings. Therefore, studying and analyzing the construction technology of large-scale building steel structures has important practical significance. This study is based on a library construction project, focusing on the installation of embedded bolts, steel columns, steel beams, and high-strength bolts in the construction of large building steel structures, as well as the technical schemes and construction processes of welding, anti-corrosion coatings, and fireproof coatings. I hope to provide reference and suggestions for actual construction.
