Abstract:Research-based learning is a kind of teaching thought,teaching mode and teaching method that the teacher accomplishes the teaching task through initiating, promoting, supporting and guiding students research activities. By means of documental data method, survey method, teaching experiment, statistical method and connecting with basketball teaching, the study has been directed on the theory and teaching experiment of the research-based learning, and further inquired this teaching method on how to influence student's physical fitness and basketball skills. The thesis provides the theoretical references and a new perspective for the study on basketball teaching reformation. The experimental object of study is the female student of grade two having basketball lessons in Tongji University. Among them, there are 32 people in the experimental class and 32 people in the controlling class. The findings indicate that there is no difference in physical fitness between the research-based learning teaching mode and "tradition" teaching mode by class teaching; but can increase the student s' basketball skills and theoretical level.
