Investigation on health seeking behavior relative to female reproductive tract infections in Beijing area

Abstract:Objective:Understanding the related knowledge and health seeking behavior relative to female reproductive tract infection in urban,rural and non-resident population of Beijing area to provide a basis for promoting health knowledge and the prevention of reproductive tract infections.Methods:From March 2005 to September 2006,the knowledge about female reproductive tract infections knowing by the women who were living in Beijing area at the time was investigated with questionnaire.To all participants in the research,the indicators of reproductive tract infections findings were recorded.The epidemiological data of three groups were analyzed.Results:The women who knew knowledge about the reproductive tract infections in urban population were more than those in rural and non-resident population(P<0.05).The reason why they did not go to see the doctor when felt comfortable was 'there was no need to do so'.The knowledge they want to know the most was the knowledge about sex transmitted disease and sex physiology though the consultation clinic of hospital.And the service that they want most provided by hospital was health screening.Conclusion:Different population may be different in knowing about female reproductive tract infections and different in the idea whether go to see the doctor or not.And the knowledge they want to know most may be different from each other.The specific interventions and educations should be done to reduce the incidence of the female reproductive tract infections.
