The Development of Bone Tissue Engineering

Abstract:Since concept of tissue engineering was introduced,research in the field of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine has exploded,especially in bone tissue engineering.By the progress of bone tissue engineering during the last two decades,a series of rules for the properties of scaffolds were proposed,scaffold meet the rules were synthesized through various methods.According to the approach of synthesis,scaffolds could be classified to the designed controlled scaffold and non-designed controlled scaffold,both of which were reviewed in this paper.To bring the concept of bone tissue engineering to the clinic,some proposed strategies were discussed.
