One-Child Policy vs. Casting off Poverty and Setting out on a Road to Prosperity

Abstract:It is high time to pay attention to the relationship between one-child policy and casting off poverty and setting out on a road to prosperity.The one-child policy not only results in hundreds of millions of one-child families and hence lack of family laborers,rise in the cost of living and training laborers and drop in the support network from relatives but also leads to impoverishment or returning to poverty due to penalty of extra birth,which therefore endangered the health of some women and children.Hence,the one-child policy is not beneficial to casting off poverty and setting out on a road to prosperity.It is necessary to adjust current policy of family planning and allow a couple to have two children.
