Experimental Research of the Characteristic of the Combination Drying with Solar Energy and Heat-Pump

Abstract:General situation of lumber drying with solar energy around the world was introduced in this article. Still, the composition, working theory, drying characteristic and drying technique of combination system with solar and heat-pump were investigated. The experimental results showed that the combination system was able to fetch up the disadvantage of using solar or heat-pump alone as the energy provider. Though energy consumption of using solar as the drying provider could cost 3.8% less energy than using the combination system, and the combination system cost 11.8% less energy than heat-pump, the time cost in wood drying with combination system was 14.9% less than with solar alone. Under the consideration of energy consumption and production efficiency, combination system used in wood drying is recommended.
