Abstract:The development of technology allows people to enjoy more happiness. But technological achievements could also do harm to people if those people who can make use of technologies lack civic consciousness. Moral and civic education lies in people’s abidance by generally recognized and accepted social norms, not in setting a moral model. The contemporary moral value system in our country should be gradually established and perfected through combing the system of traditional Chinese culture, the world’s humanistic ideals and current moral standards. For those moral conceptions of feudal society, we can take advantage of their form by giving them new meanings. We should inherit selectively world’s common cultural heritage like "Freedom, equality, fraternity" and other humanistic ideologies. The key to civic education is that while inculcating the right moral values we should keep a good moral environment, guide people to reflect on their own behavior regularly and gradually form good habits in behavior through sincere observance of the rules in everyday life.
