How the Export of Chinese Tea Declined from Thriving in 19~(th) Century

Abstract:Tea is the most important and quantitative export commodity in China in the 19th century, but it declined by the end of that century. The chief reason of the declining lies at many reasons, i.e., the backwardness of the ways of production, the lack of insurance in quality, too much taxes, wars, lack of positive rights, and the inability to undertake risks. The situation from thriving to declining in the export of Chinese tea reflects the condition of modern Chinese socio-economical development, and it is an obvious manifestation of the crisis in the 19th century.
