Abstract:Hydraulic systems have been frequently used in deep-sea equipment because of their renowned long service life, stable and reliable performance. However, impurities contained in hydraulic oil, such as solid particles, gas and water, would jeopardize work efficiency of deep-sea hydraulic systems, and in some extreme cases even cause failure of the whole system, resulting in breakdown of crucial deep-sea equipment. Therefore, this paper aims to present a device, multifunctional oil-injection equipment (MOIE), expected to be able to purify hydraulic oil in deep-sea hydraulic systems. Its major functions are to absorb oil, remove impurities and fill oil, among which the removal of water and gas, i.e. dewatering and degassing, is of significance. Theoretical analysis shows that the paper oil filter is able to remove the solid particles in hydraulic oil, and degassing and dewatering of hydraulic oil could be achieved through vacuum filtration and vacuum heating in high-temperature and low-pressure environment. The prototype of the MOIE is designed and manufactured. The results from laboratory experiments indicate that this equipment can effectively remove solid particles, gas and water from hydraulic oil. This study ensures the stability, safety and reliability of the deep-sea hydraulic system by improving the quality of hydraulic oil.

Abstract:Multi-purpose dredging support vessels are very important to ensure the dredgers continuously work efficiently,especially directly affect the effective dredging time in the open waters.This paper describes the foreign series of such ships and the configuration of such ships of the European four dredging companies,and summarizes the characteristics of them.According to the requirements of the design techniques,the paper provides a conceptual design of the target ship and calculates or selects the main technical performance,then gives the program to install bed leveling function and injection water dredging function.

Abstract:Based on domestic machining level,the traditional dredging ship mu d pump system design is improved.High speed idesel engine,coupler and mud pump gea rbox system is put forward.Mud pump gearbox units the mud pump and gearbox into a box.The cubage,weight and cost are greatly decreased.In this paper,not only th e whole design scheme is introduced,but also the designs of key components are i lluminated exhaustively.This design has been adopted by “Hundred Ships Project ”and used widely in the dredging ships.The service life of this special mud pum p gearbox equals to and exceeds the traditional one.

Abstract:The technical features of several kinds of submarine jet trenchers were introduced , including jet sled , self-propelled crawling trencher , ROV trencher and controlled flow excavation equipment .The authors believe that the jet sled is suitable for pipe-line or cable burying in shallow water , the self propelled crawling trencher and ROV trencher is designed for pipeline and cable bur-ying in deep water area , and the controlled flow excavation equipment is fit for almost all soil types except rock seabed .Design of intelligent, large-scaling, wide adaptability, and high efficiency submarine trenchers will be the developing trends in the future .

Abstract:As one of the crucial components for power supply, the propulsion system is of great significance to the advance speed, noise performances, stabilities and other associated critical performances of underwater vehicles. Developing towards much higher advance speed, the underwater vehicles make more critical demands on the performances of the propulsion system. Basically, the increased advance speed requires the significantly raised rotation speed of the propulsion system, which would result in the deteriorated cavitation performances and consequently limit the thrust and efficiency of the whole system. Compared with the traditional propeller, the water jet pump offers more favourite cavitation, propulsion efficiency and other associated performances. The present research focuses on the cavitation performances of the waterjet pump blade profile in expectation of enlarging its advantages in high-speed vehicle propulsion. Based on the specifications of a certain underwater vehicle, the design method of the waterjet blade with high cavitation performances was investigated in terms of numerical simulation.

Abstract:Both vessels,Tian Qi and Tian Lin,adopt reliable,flexible,economical and redundant frequency driving technology,equipped with heavy spud carrier with shock absorbers.So they can work normally in rough weather.The two dredgers which are designed and manufactured internally have ability to dredge weakly weathered rock.The paper introduces its basic technical features,including general plan,main dimensions,power system,mixture suction and discharge system,cutter drive system and heavy spud carrier.It introduces specially the basic information of the test of dredging rock which is stressed in the paper.

Abstract:Water injection dredging(WID) has been widely used as a new dredging and leveling tools.Accurate calculation of pipe pressure loss and nozzle flow intensity is directly related to the type of ship pump selection and dredging effects.Three computational models are established by changing the shapes and distributions of the nozzles,the flow resistance and nozzles flow intensity of which are compared,analyzed and evaluated respectively.The calculated results show that the pressure loss in pipes of truncated cone shaped nozzles is smaller than that of cylindrical nozzles.Besides,the nozzle flow intensity is related to the speed and thickness of the layer in the process of dredging.We can change the nozzle flow intensity for better cleaning results.

Abstract:The serious accumulation of sludge in the water outlet of the South to North Water Diversion Project poses a constraint on the sustainable development of the water ecosystem and the long-term development of the water storage system. Silt accumulation may lead to problems such as deterioration of water quality, damage to water ecosystems, and water level decline. In order to solve the problem of sludge accumulation, it is necessary to carry out dredging and dredging work for the water body at the outlet of the water outlet. Dredging can restore water capacity, maintain ecological balance, and contribute to the sustainable management of water systems. At present, there are still many shortcomings in the existing dredging technology for small and medium-sized water bodies on the market, which is difficult to meet the requirements of dredging in the South to North Water Diversion Project. Therefore, it is very important and necessary to develop new dredging robots to meet the environmental dredging needs. This article is based on the background of water dredging and control at the exit of the South to North Water Diversion Project. Through in-depth analysis of existing dredging robot technology and underwater robot technology, and combined with research status at home and abroad, it is planned to provide guidance and direction for the design and development of underwater dredging robot humans with environmental protection dredging functions in the future.

Abstract:Investigations on the hydrodynamics in the development of engineering equipment for deep ocean exploitation will not only deepen the knowledge of the interaction rule between the deep ocean environments and floating ocean structures, but also further develop the technological means for the deep ocean resource exploitation, which may effectively shorten the distance with other advanced countries in the area of deep ocean exploitation technology, and directly provide technical guidance and service for the regulation and design of key engineering projects in deep ocean. Based on our investigation work related to the hydrodynamics for deep ocean engineering equipment design and the understanding of the recent development trends in that field, the present paper gives a brief discussion on the future development trends of hydrodynamics, mainly water wave dynamics, in deep ocean engineering equipment design.

Abstract:In view of the severe sediment deposition in water bodies,a series of representative dredging projects in rivers,lakes and reservoirs in China were studied,revealing that the capacity of dredging was far below the market in China,and renewal and increment of dredging equipment are in an urgent need currently.The prospect of dredging technology for large scale desilting is bright,with upgrading of dredgers,descending of dredging cost,improving technology of environmental dredging and appropriate disposal approach of dredged material.It is significant for brodening traditional measures of decreasing sediment deposition,as dredging has developed as one of the effective desilting methods.

Abstract:Dredger is the most important equipment in port construction and waterway reclamation projects. This paper presents a complete scheme for monitoring and control of cutter suction dredgers. The proposed scheme has introduced a hierarchical structure; in the topmost level a knowledge based system is designed to realize overall optimization, coordinated control and fault handling; in the process control level a couple of controllers are designed. This paper gives detailed introduction to the design of the knowledge processing mechanism, and also the control algorithms for the slurry concentration and slurry velocity, these are the most important aspects in dredging operations. Implementation examples on newly constructed dredgers are finally presented. Software is developed to control the hydraulic driven movements, engine system and also the slurry transportation system. Overall optimization and fault processing tasks are also carried out by software developed. Experiment results carried out on site are presented and compared in the last; it is verified through actual operations that the proposed monitoring and control scheme can achieve acceptable performance; a much smoother dredging process is achieved.

Abstract:With the development of economy and society, the demand for inland river transportation is increasing. A large number of waterways is restricted by natural conditions and other factors. It is becoming more and more difficult to build a high-grade waterway. How to make full use of the limited waterway resources and improve comprehensive service capacity has become an important subject of inland waterway transportation. Based on the current situation and business scope of waterway regulation, this paper summarizes the requirements of waterway regulation. It also designs an intelligent waterway management system according to analyzing the applications of intelligent sensor, Internet of Things, big data, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, wireless communication in waterway management. This intelligent system can provide navigation security services including waterway maintenance, hydrometeorological, route planning, dynamic monitoring, automatic collision avoidance supporting, rescue service, and traffic flow management. It will bring a new form of modern shipping with more efficient production, more scientific management, more flexible and transparent service, and stronger guarantee. In the future, the application of waterway should gradually adapt to the development of economy and society. Finally, it will achieve the goal of the overall perception of shipping elements, the comprehensive sharing of shipping information, the comprehensive intelligence of shipping production, the comprehensive wisdom of shipping management, and the high quality of shipping service.

Abstract:Several new types of deepwater anchors widely used in the world, including suction anchor, vertically loaded anchor, suction embedded plate anchor and dynamically penetrating anchor, are detailedly illustrated. Based on the overview of recent works at home and abroad, some key and hot problems are presented and discussed briefly, which are the seabed resistance and soil heave development during the suction penetration process of suction anchor, the anchor capacity in service, the drag trajectory of vertically loaded anchor and its capacity under a three-dimensional loading state, keying process of suction embedded plate anchor, installation depth of dynamically penetrating anchor and its pullout capacity. Hence, the deficiencies in current design, field installation and bearing mechanism can be recognized, aiming to explore the new developing trend of deep-sea anchoring foundations.

Abstract:This paper analyzes the propulsion system of 4 500 m3 trailing suction hopper dredger,through actual measurement for main machine,learning about its operating condition after using for several years.Under the premise of the invariable shafting and adjustment mechanism,designing a new ducted CPP to replace its original controllable propeller,the comparative study based on theoretical calculations and measurement on site shows that this reform increases the thrust force of the dredger and with better economic benefits to save energy and improve efficiency.
