Abstract:In this paper, we consider asymptotically flat Riemannian manifolds endowed with a continuous metric and the metric is smooth away from a compact subset with certain conditions. If the metric is Lipschitz and the scalar curvature is nonnegative away from a closed subset with (n - 1)-dimensional Hausdorff measure zero, then we prove that the ADM mass of each end is nonnegative. Furthermore, if the ADM mass of some end is zero, then we prove that the manifold is isometric to the Euclidean space. The Hausdorff measure condition is optimal, which confirms a conjecture of Lee in 2013. The proof of the nonnegativity is based on a smoothing argument with some new estimates such as a L-1-scalar curvature approximation estimates. The proof of the rigidity relies on the RCD theory where we show that the manifold has nonnegative Ricci curvature in RCD sense. The idea involving RCD theory in the proof turns out to be much more suitable in the study of the rigidity for continuous metrics. Furthermore, our result generalizes the result of Lee and LeFloch (Commun Math Phys 339(1):99-120, 2015) from spin to non-spin.

In this paper, we use the method of blowing up analysis to prove several Moser-Trudinger type inequalities for vector bundle over (M,g). We also derive an upper bound of such inequalities under the assumption that blowing up occurs.

Abstract:In this article we develope a spinorial proof of the Shi-Tam theorem for the positivity of the Brown-York mass without necessity of building non smooth infinite asymptotically flat hypersurfaces in the Euclidean space and use the positivity of the ADM mass proved by Schoen-Yau and Witten. This same compact approach provides an optimal lower bound \cite{HMZ} for the first non null eigenvalue of the Dirac operator of a mean convex boundary for a compact spin manifold with non negative scalar curvature, an a rigidity result for mean-convex bodies in flat spaces. The same machinery provides analogous, but new, results of this type, as far as we know, in spherical contexts, including a version of Min-Oo's conjecture.

Abstract:The maximal monotonicity notion in Banach spaces is extended to Riemannian manifolds of nonpositive sectional curvature, Hadamard manifolds, and proved to be equivalent to the upper semicontinuity. We consider the problem of finding a singularity of a multivalued vector field in a Hadamard manifold and present a general proximal point method to solve that problem, which extends the known proximal point algorithm in Euclidean spaces. We prove that the sequence generated by our method is well defined and converges to a singularity of a maximal monotone vector field, whenever it exists. Applications in minimization problems with constraints, minimax problems and variational inequality problems, within the framework of Hadamard manifolds, are presented.

Abstract:On a Riemannian manifold of dimension $n$ we extend the known analytic results on Yang-Mills connections to the class of connections called $\Omega$-Yang-Mills connections, where $\Omega$ is a smooth, not necessarily closed, $(n-4)$-form. Special cases include $\Omega$-anti-self-dual connections and Hermitian-Yang-Mills connections over general complex manifolds. By a key observation, a weak compactness result is obtained for moduli space of smooth $\Omega$-Yang-Mills connections with uniformly $L^2$ bounded curvature, and it can be improved in the case of Hermitian-Yang-Mills connections over general complex manifolds. A removable singularity theorem for singular $\Omega$-Yang-Mills connections on a trivial bundle with small energy concentration is also proven. As an application, it is shown how to compactify the moduli space of smooth Hermitian-Yang-Mills connections on unitary bundles over a class of balanced manifolds of Hodge-Riemann type. This class includes the metrics coming from multipolarizations, and in particular, the Kaehler metrics. In the case of multipolarizations on a projective algebraic manifold, the compactification of smooth irreducible Hermitian-Yang-Mills connections with fixed determinant modulo gauge transformations inherits a complex structure from algebro-geometric considerations.

Abstract:In this paper, we obtain some rigidity theorems on compact manifolds with nonempty boundary. The results may be related to the positivity of some quasi-local mass of Brown–York type. The main argument is to use monotonicity of quantities similar to the Brown–York quasi-local mass in a foliation of quasi-spherical metrics. Together with a hyperbolic version of positivity of a mass quantity, we obtain our main results.

Abstract:This paper answers the conjecture of Adimurthi and Struwe that the semilinear Trudinger-Moser functional (as well as functionals with more general critical nonlinearities) satisfies the Palais-Smale condition at all levels except n/2 for integer n. In this paper we construct critical sequences at any level greater than 1/2 corresponding to a large family of distinct concentration profiles, indexed by all closed subsets C of (0,1) that arise in the two-dimensional case instead of the "standard bubble" in higher dimensions. The approach is based on the profile decomposition in the style of Solimini.

Abstract:The concentration compactness framework for semilinear elliptic equations without compactness, set originally by P.-L.Lions for constrained minimization in the case of homogeneous nonlinearity, is extended here to the case of general nonlinearities in the standard mountain pass setting of Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz. In these setting, existence of solutions at the mountain pass level is verified under a single penalty condition analogous to that in the Lions' case. Problems on the whole space and problems with critical nonlinearity are considered. Particular attention is given to nonhomogeneous critical nonlinearities that oscillate about the "critical stem".

Abstract:This is a continuation of our previous research about an oscillatory integral operator on compact manifolds . We prove the sharp - boundedness on the maximal operator for all $0<p<1$ . As applications, we first prove the sharp - boundedness on the maximal operator corresponding to the Riesz means associated with the Schrödinger type group and obtain the almost everywhere convergence of for all . Also, we are able to obtain the convergence speed of a combination operator from the solutions of the Cauchy problem of fractional Schrödinger equations. Abstract:We apply the Riemannian Penrose inequality and the Riemannian positive mass theorem to derive inequalities on the boundary of a class of compact Riemannian 3-manifolds with nonnegative scalar curvature. The boundary of such a manifold has a CMC component, i.e., a 2-sphere with positive constant mean curvature; and the rest of the boundary, if nonempty, consists of closed minimal surfaces. A key step in our proof is the construction of a collar extension that is inspired by the method of Mantoulidis-Schoen.

Abstract:This article provides a new approach to address Mosco convergence of gradient-type Dirichlet forms, $\mathcal E^N$ on $L^2(E,\mu_N)$ for $N\in\mathbb N$, in the framework of converging Hilbert spaces by K.~Kuwae and T.~Shioya. The basic assumption is weak measure convergence of the family ${(\mu_N)}_{N}$ on the state space $E$ - either a separable Hilbert space or a locally convex topological vector space. Apart from that, the conditions on ${(\mu_N)}_{N}$ try to impose as little restrictions as possible. The problem has fully been solved if the family ${(\mu_N)}_{N}$ contain only log-concave measures, due to L.~Ambrosio, G.~Savaré and L.~Zambotti, 2009. However for a large class of convergence problems the assumption of log-concavity fails. The article suggests a way to overcome this hindrance, as it presents a new approach. Combining the theory of Dirichlet forms with methods from numerical analysis we find abstract criteria for Mosco convergence of standard gradient forms with varying reference measures. These include cases in which the measures are not log-concave. To demonstrate the accessibility of our abstract theory we discuss a first application, generalizing an approximation result by S.~K.~Bounebache and L.~Zambotti, 2014.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the Moser-Trudinger inequality when it involves a Finsler-Laplacian operator that is associated with functionals containing F-2 (Delta u). Here F is convex and homogeneous of degree 1, and its polar F-o represents a Finsler metric on R-n. We obtain an existence result on the extremal functions for this sharp geometric inequality.

Abstract:Let $X$ be a compact complex manifold which admits a hermitian metric satisfying a curvature condition introduced by Guan-Li. Given a semipositive form $\theta$ with positive volume, we define the Monge-Ampère operator for unbounded $\theta$-psh functions and prove that it is continuous with respect to convergence in capacity. We then develop pluripotential tools to study degenerate complex Monge-Ampère equations in this context, extending recent results of Tosatti-Weinkove, Kolodziej-Nguyen, Guedj-Lu and many others who treat bounded solutions.
