Abstract:We introduce the forward (backward) gH-difference operator of interval sequences, and establish some new discrete Opial type inequalities for interval-valued functions. Further, we obtain generalizations of classical discrete Opial type inequalities. Some examples are presented to illustrate our results.

Abstract:Opial's inequality and its ramifications play an important role in the theory of differential and difference equations. A sharp unifying generalization of Opial's inequality is presented that contains both its continuous and discrete version. This generalization based on distribution functions is extended to the case of derivatives of arbitrary order. This extension optimizes and improves the constant as given in the literature. The special case of derivatives of second order is studied in more detail. Two closely related Opial inequalities with a weight function are presented as well. The associated Wirtinger inequality is studied briefly.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish several new Lyapunov-type inequalities for the nonlinear difference system {Δx(n)=α(n)x(n+1)+β(n)|y(n)|μ−2y(n),Δy(n)=−γ(n)|x(n+1)|ν−2x(n+1)−α(n)y(n), when the end-points are not necessarily usual zeros, but rather, generalized zeros. Our results improve almost all related existing ones.

Abstract:Comparison principles for fractional differential equations have been investigated in many papers using different types of fractional integral and derivative operators. We here prove the strongest such results so far, for a very broad class of operators that is even more general than those with Sonine kernels. Starting from inequalities valid at global extrema, we obtain comparison principles for these general operators, which are applied to prove bounds on solutions to related integro-differential equations. Many results in the literature will be considered as particular cases of the current study.

Abstract:We study first order differential operators with constant coefficients. The main question is under what conditions a generalized Poincaré inequality holds. We show that the constant rank condition is sufficient. The concept of the Moore-Penrose generalized inverse of a matrix comes into play.

Abstract:We consider conic inequality systems of the type$F(x)\ge_K 0$, with approximate solution $x_0$ associated to a parameter $\tau$,where $F$ is a twice Fréchet differentiable function between Hilbert spaces $X$ and $Y$, and$\ge_K$ is the partial order in $Y$ defined by anonempty convex (not necessarily closed) cone $K\subseteq Y$.We prove that, under the suitable conditions,the system $F(x)\ge_K 0$is solvable, and the ratio of the distance from $x_0$ to the solution set $S$ over the distance from $F(x_0)$ to the cone $K$ has anupper bound given explicitlyin terms of $\tau$ and $x_0$. We show that the upper bound is sharp.Applications to analytic function inequality/equality systems on Euclidean spaces are given,and the corresponding results of Dedieu [ SIAM J. Optim. , 11 (2000), pp. 411--425] are extended and significantly improved.

Abstract:Using the error bound results established in the present paper for approximate solutions, we study the stability issues when perturbed by possibly nonaffine smooth maps E for the abstract inequality system F >=(K) 0 defined by a (possible nonclosed) convex cone K and a Frechet differentiable function F satisfying the (extended) weak gamma-condition. We provide some sufficient conditions, in terms of the information at a solution x(0), for ensuring the lower semicontinuity and/or the Lipschitz-like continuity at x(0) of the solution mapping for the perturbed system F + E >=(K) 0 with smooth perturbation E. Explicit upper bounds of the Lipschitz-like moduli are also provided.

Abstract:The original Choi–Davis–Jensen's inequality, known for its extensive applications in various scientific and engineering fields, has inspired researchers to pursue its generalizations. In this study, we extend the Choi–Davis–Jensen's inequality by introducing a nonlinear map instead of a normalized linear map and generalize the concept of operator convex functions to include any continuous function defined within a compact region. Notably, operators can be matrices with structural symmetry, enhancing the scope and applicability of our results. The Stone–Weierstrass theorem and the Kantorovich function play crucial roles in the formulation and proof of these generalized Choi–Davis–Jensen's inequalities. Furthermore, we demonstrate an application of this generalized inequality in the context of statistical physics.

Abstract:The original Choi-Davis-Jensen's inequality, with its wide-ranging applications in diverse scientific and engineering fields, has motivated researchers to explore generalizations. In this study, we extend Davis-Choi-Jensen's inequality by considering a nonlinear map instead of a normalized linear map and generalize operator convex function to any continuous function defined in a compact region. Abstract:This work is devoted to the study of a Liouville comparison principle for entire weak solutions of quasilinear differential inequalities of the form $A(u) + |u|^{q-1}u \leq A(v) + |v|^{q-1}v$ on ${\Bbb R}^n$, where $n\geq 1$, $q$ is positive, and the operator $A(w)$ belongs to a class of the so-called $\alpha$-monotone operators. Typical examples of such operators are the $p$-Laplacian and its well-known modifications. The results improve and supplement those in [1].

Abstract:The main purpose of this paper is, in the general setting of the adjointable operators on Hilbert -modules, to develop two new tools that can be applied to deal with the positive solutions of certain operator equations, the operator norm and related quantities. Among other things, the positivity of a operator matrix is clarified without any preconditions on its entries, and a generalized version of the mixed Schwarz inequality with a parameter is derived. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the non-triviality of this newly obtained inequality.
