Application of H.S.Tsien’ s Systems Science in Man-Machine-Environment System Engineering

Abstract:This paper discusses H.S.Tsien’ s modern science and technology systems and its overall frame-work , his thoughts of systems science , and the meta-synthesis methods proposed from qualitative to quantita-tive.TakeProfessor Baoguo Wang ’ s Aerothermodynamics and Man-Machine-Environment ( AMME) Labo-ratory for an example.The paperbriefly reviews the important research results accomplished by Professor Wang ’ s AMME Lab and six research teams work closelytogether over the past ten years or so , following H.S.Tsien’ s thoughts of systems science.The paper states software analysis systems and essential equip-mentsgenerally requiredwhen establishing a laboratory platform for Man-Machine-Environment System Engi-neering, and, in particular,suggest pay special attention to eye-tracking system, eye movement measuring system (EMMS), technology on event-related brain potential (ERP), qualitative and quantitative analysis model building on Man-Machine-Environment system , and building mathematical modeling of human through cognitive neuroscience.The paper points out that Man-Machine-Environment system is just one type of systems among systems science , a unique system involving the study of human being , Hence, H.S.Tsien’ s meta-synthesis method is crucial for the study and application of complex systems , complex gi-ant system, and special complex giant system in the field of Man-Machine-Environment system.
