Abstract:The effect of pre-styling and structure design of an outside rearview mirror on aerodynamic noise are particularly discussed in terms of engineering structures of many outside rearview mirrors and actual validation on the expressway in combination with a vehicle CFD flow field analysis. Furthermore, relationship among styling, structure design and aerodynamic noise is demonstrated with regard to an outside rearview mirror by improving aerodynamic noise of several models. It is hoped that this would be helpful to engineers who are engaged in styling and engineering structure design and development of outside rearview mirror.
