Abstract:Quantum integrable systems and their classical counterparts are considered. We show that the symplectic structure and invariant tori of the classical system can be deformed by a quantization parameter $\hbar$ to produce a new (classical) integrable system. The new tori selected by the $\hbar$-equidistance rule represent the spectrum of the quantum system up to $O(\hbar^\infty)$ and are invariant under quantum dynamics in the long-time range $O(\hbar^{-\infty})$. The quantum diffusion over the deformed tori is described. The analytic apparatus uses quantum action-angle coordinates explicitly constructed by an $\hbar$-deformation of the classical action-angles.

Quantum Integrable Systems arising from Separation of Variables on S3

Abstract:We study the family of quantum integrable systems that arise from separating the Schrödinger equation in all 6 separable orthogonal coordinates on the 3 sphere: ellipsoidal, prolate, oblate, Lamé, spherical and cylindrical. On the one hand each separating coordinate system gives rise to a quantum integrable system on S2 x S2, on the other hand it also leads to families of harmonic polynomials in R4. We show that separation in ellipsoidal coordinates yields a generalised Lamé equation - a Fuchsian ODE with 5 regular singular points. We seek polynomial solutions so that the eigenfunctions are analytic at all finite singularities. We classify eigenfunctions by their discrete symmetry and compute the joint spectrum for each symmetry class. The latter 5 separable coordinate systems are all degenerations of the ellipsoidal coordinates. We perform similar analyses on these systems and show how the ODEs degenerate in a fashion akin to their respective coordinates. For the prolate system we show that there exists a defect in the joint spectrum which prohibits a global assignment of quantum numbers: the system has quantum monodromy. This is a companion paper to our previous work where the respective classical systems were studied.

Abstract:We introduce and study two new examples of noncommutative spheres: the half-liberated sphere, and the free sphere. Together with the usual sphere, these two spheres have the property that the corresponding quantum isometry group is "easy", in the representation theory sense. We present as well some general comments on the axiomatization problem, and on the "untwisted" and "non-easy" case.

Abstract:Classical integrable Hamiltonian systems generated by elements of the Poisson commuting ring of spectral invariants on rational coadjoint orbits of the loop algebra$$\widetilde{\mathfrak{g}\mathfrak{l}}^{ + *} (2,\mathbb{R})$$ are integrated by separation of variables in the Hamilton-Jacobi equation in hyperellipsoidal coordinates. The canonically quantized systems are then shown to also be completely integrable and separable within the same coordinates. Pairs of second class constraints defining reduced phase spaces are implemented in the quantized systems by choosing one constraint as an invariant, and interpreting the other as determining a quotient (i.e. by treating one as a first class constraint and the other as a gauge condition). Completely integrable, separable systems on spheres and ellipsoids result, but those on ellipsoids require a further modification of order$$\mathcal{O}(\hbar ^2 )$$ in the commuting invariants in order to assure self-adjointness and to recover the Laplacian for the case of free motion. for each case — in the ambient space ℝn, the sphere and the ellipsoid — the Schrödinger equations are completely separated in hyperellipsoidal coordinates, giving equations of generalized Lamé type.

Quantum Integrable Systems on a Classical Integrable Background

Abstract:In this paper, we develop the framework for quantum integrable systems on an integrable classical background. We call them hybrid quantum integrable systems (hybrid integrable systems), and we show that they occur naturally in the semiclassical limit of quantum integrable systems. We start with an outline of the concept of hybrid dynamical systems. Then we give several examples of hybrid integrable systems. The first series of examples is a class of hybrid integrable systems that appear in the semiclassical limit of quantum spin chains. Then we look at the semiclassical limit of the quantum spin Calogero--Moser system. The result is a hybrid integrable system driven by usual classical Calogero--Moser (CM) dynamics. This system at the fixed point of the multi-time classical dynamics CM system gives commuting spin Hamiltonians of Haldane--Shastry model.

Abstract:In this note, we establish several interesting connections between the super- group gauge theories and the super integrable systems, i.e. gauge theories with supergroups as their gauge groups and integrable systems defined on superalgebras. In particular, we construct the super-characteristic polynomials of super-Toda lattice and elliptic double Calogero-Moser system by considering certain orbifolded instanton partition functions of their corresponding supergroup gauge theories. We also derive an exotic generalization of sl(2) XXX spin chain arising from the instanton partition function of SQCD with super- gauge group, and study its Bethe ansatz equation.

Abstract:In this note, we extend the striking connections between quantum integrable systems and conformal blocks recently found in [M. Isachenkov and V. Schomerus, Phys. Rev. Lett. 117, 071602 (2016)PRLTAO0031-900710.1103/PhysRevLett.117.071602] in several directions. First, we explicitly demonstrate that the action of the quartic conformal Casimir operator on general d-dimensional scalar conformal blocks can be expressed in terms of certain combinations of commuting integrals of motions of the two particle hyperbolic BC2 Calogero-Sutherland system. The permutation and reflection properties of the underlying Dunkl operators play crucial roles in establishing such a connection. Next, we show that the scalar superconformal blocks in superconformal field theories (SCFTs) with four and eight supercharges and suitable chirality constraints can also be identified with the eigenfunctions of the same Calogero-Sutherland system; this demonstrates the universality of such a connection. Finally, we observe that the so-called “seed” conformal blocks for constructing four point functions for operators with arbitrary space-time spins in four-dimensional CFTs can also be linearly expanded in terms of Calogero-Sutherland eigenfunctions.

Abstract:We use a recent formalism of quantum geodesics in noncommutative geometry to construct geodesic flow on the infinite chain $\cdots\bullet$--$\bullet$--$\bullet\cdots$. We find that noncommutative effects due to the discretisation of the line cause an initially real geodesic flow amplitude $\psi$ (for which the density is $|\psi|^2$) to become complex. This has been noted also for other quantum geometries and suggests that the complex nature of the wave function in quantum mechanics (and the interference effects that follow) may have its origin in a quantum/discrete nature of spacetime at the Planck scale.

Quantum de Sitter Entropy and Sphere Partition Functions: A-Hypergeometric Approach to Higher Loop Corrections

Abstract:In order to find quantum corrections to the de Sitter entropy, a new approach to higher loop Feynman integral computations on the sphere is presented. Arbitrary scalar Feynman integrals on a spherical background are brought into the generalized Euler integral (A-hypergeometric series/GKZ system) form by expressing the massive scalar propagator as a quotient of a bivariate radial Mellin transform of the massless scalar propagator in one higher dimensional Euclidean flat space. This formulation is expanded to include massive and massless vector fields by construction of similar embedding space propagators. Vector Feynman integrals are shown to be sums over generalized Euler integrals formed of underlying scalar Feynman integrals. Granting existence of general spin embedding space propagators, the same is shown to be true for general spin Feynman integrals.

Abstract:We propose in this work a concept of integrability for quantum systems, which corresponds to the concept of noncommutative integrability for systems in classical mechanics. We determine a condition for quantum operators which can be a suitable replacement for the condition of functional independence for functions on the classical phase space. This condition is based on the properties of the main parts of the operators with respect to the momenta. We are led in this way to the definition of what we call a "quasi-integrable quantum system". This concept will be further developed in a series of following papers.

Abstract:In this paper we construct certain quantum spin systems on moduli spaces of $G$-connections on a connected oriented finite graph, with $G$ a simply connected compact Lie group. We construct joint eigenfunctions of the commuting quantum Hamiltonians in terms of local invariant tensors. We determine sufficient conditions ensuring superintegrability of the quantum spin system using irreducibility criteria for Harish-Chandra modules due to Harish-Chandra and Lepowsky & McCollum. The resulting class of quantum superintegrable spin systems includes the quantum periodic and open spin Calogero-Moser spin chains as special cases. In the periodic case the description of the joint eigenfunctions in terms of local invariant tensors are multipoint generalised trace functions, in the open case multipoint spherical functions on compact symmetric spaces.

Abstract:We consider classical and quantum integrable sigma models and their relations with the solutions of renormalization group equations. We say that an integrable sigma model possesses the "nice" duality property if the dual quantum field theory has the weak coupling region. As an example, we consider the deformed $CP(n-1)$ sigma model with additional quantum degrees of freedom. We formulate the dual integrable field theory and use perturbed conformal field theory, perturbation theory, $S$-matrix, Bethe Ansatz and renormalization group methods to show that this field theory has the "nice" duality property. We consider also an alternative approach to the analysis of sigma models on the deformed symmetric spaces, based on the perturbed rational conformal field theories.

Quantum 2D Liouville Path-Integral Is a Sum over Geometries in AdS$_3$ Einstein Gravity

Abstract:There is a renowned solution of the modular bootstrap that defines the UV complete quantum Liouville theory. We triangulate the path-integral of this Liouville CFT on any 2D surface $\mathcal{M}$, by proposing a shrinkable boundary condition for this special CFT that allows small holes to close, analogous to the proposal in rational CFTs [1-3]. This is essentially a tensor network that admits an interpretation of a state-sum of a 3D topological theory constructed with quantum 6j symbols of $\mathcal{U}_q(SL(2,\mathbb{R}))$ with non-trivial boundary conditions, and it reduces to a sum over 3D geometries weighted by the Einstein-Hilbert action to leading order in large $c$. The boundary conditions of quantum Liouville theory specifies a very special sum over bulk geometries to faithfully reproduce the CFT path-integral. The triangulation coincides with producing a network of geodesics in the AdS bulk, which can be changed making use of the pentagon identity and orthogonality condition satisfied by the 6j symbols, and arranged into a precise holographic tensor network.

Abstract:We define a three-parameter family of random surfaces in Liouville quantum gravity (LQG) which can be viewed as the quantum version of triangles. These quantum triangles are natural in two senses. First, by our definition they produce the boundary three-point correlation functions of Liouville conformal field theory on the disk. Second, it turns out that the laws of the triangles bounded by flow lines in imaginary geometry coupled with LQG are given by these quantum triangles. In this paper we demonstrate the second point for boundary flow lines on a quantum disk. Our method has the potential to prove general conformal welding results with quantum triangles glued in an arbitrary way. Quantum triangles play a basic role in understanding the integrability of SLE and LQG via conformal welding. In this paper, we deduce integrability results for chordal SLE with three force points, using the conformal welding of a quantum triangle and a two-pointed quantum disk. In a subsequent work we will explore their applications to the mating-of-trees framework of LQG, including the exact evaluation of the expected proportion of inversions in skew Brownian permutons.

Abstract:A bstract We study a class of quantum integrable systems derived from dimer graphs and also described by local toric Calabi-Yau geometries with higher genus mirror curves, generalizing some previous works on genus one mirror curves. We compute the spectra of the quantum systems both by standard perturbation method and by Bohr-Sommerfeld method with quantum periods as the phase volumes. In this way, we obtain some exact analytic results for the classical and quantum periods of the Calabi-Yau geometries. We also determine the differential operators of the quantum periods and compute the topological string free energy in Nekrasov-Shatashvili (NS) limit. The results agree with calculations from other methods such as the topological vertex.
