Abstract:On the basis of the three-phase four-wire shunt active power filter (APF), this paper discusses the control system. In order to produce compensation current faster, it takes the fusion of FFT and p-q method to detect the harmonic current, and adopt dual-DSP hardware structure based on MCBSP to realize signal processing. At the same time, this paper presents a threeclosed-loop control system to keep the accuracy. Then, we build some MATLAB models for the control system to verify the validity of this system. At last, we did an experiment to realize the communication between the dual-DSP.

Abstract:Three-phase four-wire Shunt Active Power Filters (SAPFs) can not only compensate the harmonics and reactive power for kinds of unbalanced nonlinear loads, but also suppress the neutral current. According to the disadvantages of conditional control strategies in dq0 frame for APF systems, a control strategy based on abc frame for three-phase four-wire SAPFs is presented. It achieves the control of DC-bus voltage and compensation currents in time domain and there is no coupling among each phase. What's more, the selective harmonic detection method based on Discrete Fourier Transformation (DFT) algorithm and the compound current control strategy consists of Proportional-Integral (PI) controller and repetitive controller are adopted. Consequently, excellent compensation performances both in balanced and unbalanced load are achieved. Experimental results of a 16.5-kVA laboratory prototype prove its efficiency and feasibility.

Abstract:The operating principle of the shunt active power filter is analyzed in this paper. A three-leg voltage-source inverter with split DC link capacitors is selected for main circuit of the shunt active power filter, and a dynamic hysteresis-band current control is used. A control strategy based on the instantaneous power theory is given in this paper in consideration of the source voltage becoming distorted and unbalanced, which can compensate the reactive power and harmonics completely for three-phase four-wire systems. A fully digital control system based on DSP and FPGA is designed. Simulation and experiment results show that the strategy is correct.

Abstract:In order to eliminate more and more harmonic pollution in power system,using ip-iq instantaneous reactive power theory and DSP digital control system as control core,the compensation precision and the operational capability were increased.At the same time,the active power filter's hardware circuit design process and the software design were introduced,and the test sample was constructed.The experimental results indicated that the harmonic source load's current realized the sine,which had indicated that the harmonic examination algorithm and the control strategy were accuracy and validity.

Abstract:In this paper, a new digital control impedance with lower cost and less space strategy of an active power filter adopting an approximate inverse system control strategy is discussed. The proposed approximate inverse system control is composed of digital band-pass filters, phase shifters and amplifiers, all which can be implemented with a TMS320C32 DSP. After the comparison of the performance of IIR digital filter with FIR digital filter, the former is preferred to be adopted here. The results of both simulations based on PSCAD and experiments on a 30 kVA HVDC system validate that the digital controller can ensure the good performance of APF without the stability problem.

Abstract:Shunt Active Power Filters (SAPF) have been proved to be an effective approach to eliminate harmonic current in power grids. The DC voltage control during dynamic processes is critical for the safe and performance of the SAPF. In this paper, soft startup and impact suppression techniques are proposed to guarantee no voltage overshoots or sags in DC bus during startup and other dynamic processes. Subsequently, a novel controller for DC bus voltage regulation is put forward according to the small signal model based on the instantaneous power balance in AC and DC sides of three-phase SAPF. With good compensation effects, the proposed voltage loop controller has improved dynamic performances greatly compared with traditional PI controllers as loads change. Finally, simulation and experimental results from a 260kVA prototype verify the feasibility of the proposed techniques and control strategies.

Abstract:To improve the compensation performance of threephase Shunt Active Power filter (APF), a novel current control strategy was proposed based on Generalized Integrators (GI). The method employs an array of generalized integrators, one for the fundamental and the others for each harmonic, implemented in stationary frame. Due to the GI's characteristics of the infinite open-loop gain and high selectivity, zero steady-state error and selective compensation strategy for the APF are achieved. The proposed controller is designed directly in Z-domain in order to eliminate the unexpected loss of gain and detuning of GI during digitalization processing. And a special digital phase-locked loop with fixed sampling points per line cycle is utilized to guarantee the frequency adaption of the GI in case of grid frequency varies. The superiority of the proposed control scheme is verified completely by both simulation and experimental results.

Abstract:In order to improve the control effect of high-power shunt active power filter, the paper uses detection algorithm for selective harmonic current in three-phase four-wire system. The algorithm can detect positive, negative and zero phase-sequence component of the random harmonic current, and can improve the accuracy and real-time of the harmonic current detection. At the same time, the paper presents a dual closed-loop control strategy to suppress the circulating current brought about by the multiple structure of the main circuit. The grid side filters use LCL-filter. Compared to traditional L-filter, the LCL-filter has better filter performance not only in effectively filtering the high frequency switching harmonics of the main circuit, but also in reducing the value of inductance, improving system dynamic performance and reducing the cost. Finally, the paper sets up a simulation model and an experimental prototype of the system, and the results show that the control strategy is correct and feasible, and harmonic treatment of the system is effective.

Abstract:The digital signal processor TMS320F2812-based control system of shunt active power filter is designed.The control algorithm for control system of shunt active power filter is realized by TMS320F2812 processor.the ip-iq principle is presented for the harmonic current extracting and the reference current generation.A deadbeat control strategy is used to control the producing of compensation current,A simulation study with the MATLAB on the system has been done,and experimental results show that the active power filter with the proposed control system is of well working characteristics.

Abstract:Shunt Active Power Filters (APFs) are powerful in harmonic elimination and reactive power compensation in distribution network. The APF prototype discussed in this paper is based on conventional three-leg converter with an improved LCL filter in the ac side, which consists of a LC resonant branch and is tuned at switching frequency. It is helpful to suppress switching ripple injected to the grid and reduce the power loss in the damping resistor. What's more, a compound current control strategy with an outer loop of repetitive control and an inner one of Proportional-Integral (PI) control is adopted. The inner loop is used to guarantee the dynamic response, and the outer one is designed to redeem the inherent phase lag of inner loop. Consequently, excellent harmonic current tracking performance both in steady-state and dynamical-state are achieved. Experimental results of the laboratory prototype prove its feasibility and efficiency.

Abstract:Active power filter (APF) with digital control is widely used to solve harmonic problems. But inherent delay time introduced by digital control significantly affects the performance of APF. Here, we introduce an improved harmonic detection method by using phase-shifting. In order to shorten the computation time of harmonics reference, we use the data calculated in the last sample period. So the delay time is shortened, and the performance of APF is improved. The whole algorithm is based on generalized instantaneous reactive power theory. This method is easy to realize and useful for industrial application. A 50kVA three-phase four-wire shunt active power filter is implemented. The controllers with two types of TI digital signal processors (TMS320LF240 and TMS320F2812) are compared. Experiment result shows good performance employing the new algorithm for APF.

Abstract:A mathematic model in d-q frame is established for a shunt active power filter of three phases and three lines with a LCL filter. A purely digital scheme for harmonic currents abstract and its compensation is designed based on the instantaneous reactive power theory. To suppress the impulse current,a method of softly connection to the grid is presented,which is to control DC voltage by piecewise function and to connect to the grid in a proper time. Simultaneously,a dual-DSP control system is developed to compute for control in a real time,which contains a floating DSP TMS320F28335 and a fixed DSP TMS320F2812. The experiment results showed that the dual CPU digital system ensured a real-time control for the harmonic compensation and the soft connection to grid suppressed the impulse current.

Abstract:This paper proposes a control method applying to three-phase four-switch shunt active power filter (TFSSAPF). The topology and basic operation principle of TFSSAPF are fully analyzed, followed by two DC-side capacitors voltage control methods. The dc-side total voltage is retained by controlling the active proportion of output currents. The DC-side voltage balancing is realized by adapting the direct proportion of the c-phase output current. A sinusoidal PWM method adopting the two output phase currents as instruction currents is presented. Experimental results show the validity and feasibility of the proposed method.

Abstract:This paper presents an digital dual-mode-structure repetitive control approach for the single-phase shunt active power filter (APF), which aims to enhance the tracking ability and eliminate arbitrary order harmonic. The proposed repetitive control scheme blends the characteristics of both odd-harmonic repetitive control and even-harmonic repetitive control. Moreover, the convergence rate is faster than conventional repetitive controller. Additionally, the parameters have been designed and optimized for the dual-mode structure repetitive control to improve the performance of APF system. Experimental results on a laboratory setup are given to verify the proposed control scheme.

Abstract:The shunt active power filter has been proved to be a useful means to improve power quality. This paper investigates the utilization of a new control strategy for three-phase three-wire voltage source shunt active power filter. The proposed scheme is composed of a self-tuning fuzzy logic controller and a series of generalized integrators. Self-tuning fuzzy controller, which operates through the error between the dc-link voltage and a reference value, regulates the voltage level of the dc-link and its output is regarded as the amplitude of grid reference current. The PI current controllers using stationary-frame generalized integrators are adopted, which can eliminate the steady state errors and compensate current harmonics selectively. In addition, an improved Fourier analytic approach is proposed to obtain the phase of the grid current reference by analysis of the grid voltage. The feasibility of the proposed scheme is validated by experimental results from a prototype.

Abstract:A novel harmonic current detection method for three-phase three-wire shunt active power filter is proposed in this paper based on the analysis on nonlinear current introduced by rectifier bridge.Then the principle of the harmonic current detection method and its implementation are illustrated,and the design method of harmonic current detection filter is also discussed.The influence of the harmonic detection method on dc bus voltage is analyzed and studied in case of abrupt load change,and the cause of dc bus voltage fluctuation is also given.In the end,harmonic current detection method and the proposed method are studied separately through experiment and simulation,which verify the feasibility and reliability of the novel harmonic current detection method.
Design and Experimental Investigation of a Three-Phase APF based on Feed-Forward plus Feedback Control

Abstract:An effective control scheme for three-phase three-wire active power filter is proposed in this paper. Conventionally, the majority of existing APF control strategies in literature adopts feed-forward control scheme, which results in switching notches (sharp-rising or falling ripples) in the source-side currents at conduction instants of diode/thyristor rectifier load. The proposed method utilizes feedback control plus feed-forward control structures to achieve a smooth filtering performance. The feedback loop minimizes the steady-state error using two separate PI regulators in d-axis and q-axis respectively. The feed-forward loop serves the purpose of load disturbance rejection and it significantly enhances performance of active power filter by using synchronous frame adaptive neural network (SADALINE) algorithm. The proposed method overwhelms many existing compensation schemes in terms of simplicity, robustness and ease of implementation using DSP. The key of realization of APF is exact real-time compensating harmonic current. Exactly detect and export compensation current is crucial for exact real-time compensating harmonic current. By using DSP (TMS320LF2407A)as the core of control part, this article successfully designed One-Phase full-bridge Inverter(2kVA). Then it proceeds with relative modulation and testing, and analysis experimental data in the end.
