On the Focus of Entrepreneurial Learning——A Case from Wan Xiang Group

Abstract:Absence of commonly accepted focus has become an impediment of entrepreneurial learning research.It suggests that the core issue of entrepreneurial learning is to learn how to skillfully handle the 3 rent-creating mechanisms.According to theory,wielding those rent-creating mechanisms may result in two kinds of activity in economic entity,namely 'exploration' and 'exploitation'.Exploitation denotes the activities of exerting existing resources,and exploration means trying to get those potentially valuable resoruces.Actually,to settle the trouble in every level of organization,balance those two different activities is necessary skill for all firms.Furthermore,this skill should be taken as the focus of entrepreneurial learning research.In the end,a case about Wan Xiang group shows us the applicable value of that skill,and the result confirms that proper usage of that skill directly relates the success of entrepreneurship.
