Pilot-scale study on anaerobic-aerobic process for pharmaceutical wastewater treatment

Abstract:Pilot-scale anaerobic-aerobic process,which anaerobic baffled reactor(ABR),moving-bed biofilm reactor(MBBR) and membrane biological reactor(MBR) were combined together was studied to treat pharmaceutical wastewater.Experimental results showed that: when the initial average of SS,COD,NH3-N in pharmaceutical wastewater were 1000 mg/L,10 000 mg/L and 500 mg/L,the values of turbidity,COD and NH3-N were below 3 NTU,500 mg/L and 10 mg/L in the effluent,their removal efficiencies were respectively above 98%,95% and 98%.
