Abstract:Oligomeric polystyrylmethyl benzyl chlorides with different molecular weight were prepared from styrene by anionic polymerization using n-BuLi/THF as initiator and α,α'-Dichloro-p-xylene as the terminating reagent.The polystyryl ammonium salt was obtained from the reaction of trimethyl amine with the corresponding benzyl chloride,and then the polystyryl modified clays were prepared through cationic exchange of the sodium ion in the clay with the corresponding polystyryl ammonium salt.The polystyryl chemicals were characterized by 1H NMR,and its modified clays were characterized using XRD and TGA.
