Review on the Research Techniques about the Adhesion Mechanisms of Metals/Polymer Coatings

Abstract:The adhesion mechanisms of metals/polymer coatings are comparatively complex but of importance of theory and application. Recently, much attention has been paid on the study of adhesion phenomena and mechanisms of the metals/nano-modified polymers and geckoes. In this paper, the measuring methods of the adhesion strength of metals/polymer coatings, including the microcosmic measurements, are introduced in detail. Then characteristics and working conditions of these techniques are compared. Moreover, the adhesion mechanisms recently studied are introduced, especially some different methods, measurements and apparatus which have been used to investigate some different mechanisms.
