Abstract:We propose to use a set of averaged entropies, the multiple entropy measures (MEMS), to partially quantify quantum entanglement of multipartite quantum state. The MEMS is vector-like with m = [N/2] components: [S1, S2, ..., Sm], and the i-th component S-i is the geometric mean of i-qubits partial entropy of the system. The S-i measures how strong an arbitrary i qubits from the system are correlated with the rest of the system. It satisfies the conditions for a good entanglement measure. We have analyzed the entanglement properties of the GHZ-state, the W-states, and cluster-states under MEMS.

Abstract:A new entanglement measure, the multiple entropy measures (MEMS), is proposed to quantify quantum entanglement of multi-partite quantum state. The MEMS is vector-like with $m=[N/2]$, the integer part of $N/2$, components: $[S_1, S_2,..., S_m]$, and the $i$-th component $S_i$ is the geometric mean of $i$-body partial entropy of the system. The $S_i$ measures how strong an arbitrary $i$ bodies from the system are entangled with the rest of the system. The MEMS is not only transparent in physical picture, but also simple to calculate. It satisfies the conditions for a good entanglement measure. We have analyzed the entanglement properties of the GHZ-state, the W-states and cluster-states under MEMS. The cluster-state is more entangled than the GHZ-state and W-state under MEMS.

Abstract:We provide methods for computing the geometric measure of entanglement for two families of pure states with both experimental and theoretical interests: symmetric multiqubit states with non-negative amplitudes in the Dicke basis and symmetric three-qubit states. In addition, we study the geometric measure of pure three-qubit states systematically in virtue of a canonical form of their two-qubit reduced states and derive analytical formulas for a three-parameter family of three-qubit states. Based on this result, we further show that the W state is the maximally entangled three-qubit state with respect to the geometric measure.

Abstract:To quantify the entanglement is one of the most important topics in quantum entanglement theory. An entanglement measure is built from measures for pure states. Conditions when the entanglement measure is entanglement monotone and convex are presented, as well as the interpretation of smoothed one-shot entanglement cost. Next, a difference between the measure under the local operation and classical communication and the separability-preserving operations is presented. Then, the relation between the convex roof extended method and the way here for the entanglement measures built from the geometric entanglement measure for pure states, as well as the concurrence for pure states in two-qubit systems are considered. It is also shown that the measure is monogamous for 2 circle times 2 circle times d system.

Abstract:To quantify the entanglement is one of the most important topics in quantum entanglement theory. In [arXiv: <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2006.12408" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2006.12408">2006.12408</a>], the authors proposed a method to build a measure from the orginal domain to a larger one. Here we apply that method to build an entanglement measure from measures for pure states. First, we present conditions when the entanglement measure is an entanglement monotone and convex, we also present an interpretation of the smoothed one-shot entanglement cost under the method here. At last, we present a difference between the local operation and classical communication (LOCC) and the separability-preserving (SEPP) operations, then we present the entanglement measures built from the geometric entanglement measure for pure states by the convex roof extended method and the method here are equal, at last, we present the relationship between the concurrence and the entanglement measure built from concurrence for pure states by the method here on 2 \otimes 2 systems. We also present the measure is monogamous for 2\otimes 2 \otimes d system.

Abstract:In this paper, von Neumann entropy is used to study three kinds of bipartite qutrit model, which represent SU(3) strongly correlated model, three-level Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick model, and spin-1 model. The relation between the ground-state entanglement and the quantum phase transition in those models is exhibited and the connection between the entanglement extremes and the symmetries is also discussed.

Abstract:An entanglement measure for multipartite pure states is formulated using the product of the von Neumann entropy of the reduced density matrices of the constituents. Based on this new measure, all possible ways of the maximal entanglement of the triqubit pure states are studied in detail and all types of the maximal entanglement have been compared with the result of ‘the average entropy’. The new measure can be used to calculate the degree of entanglement, and an improvement is given in the area near the zero entropy.

Abstract:We first present a generalized criterion for maximally entangled states of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and in theory to arbitrary-number qubits. By this criterion, some known highly entangled multi-qubit states are examined and a new genuine eight-qubit maximally entangle state is obtained. For the 4, 7 and 8 qubits system in which no maximally multi-qubit entangled states (MMES) is thought to exist before, we find that the proved and most suspected MMESes, are not completely mixed in subsystem with a critical-number qubits, below which the subsystems are all completely mixed. We believe that the new criterion and MMES can play important role in quantum information technology, such as the teleportation and dense coding.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the problem of how to quantify entanglement for any multipartite quantum states. For bipartite pure states partial entropy is a good entanglement measure. By using partial entropy, we firstly introduce the Combinatorial Entropy of Fully entangled states (CEF) which can be used to quantify entanglement for any fully entangled pure states. In order to quantify entanglement for any multipartite states we also need another concept the Entanglement Combination (EC) which can be used to completely describe the entanglement between any parties of the given quantum states. Combining CEF with EC, we define the Combinatorial Entropy (CE) for any multipartite pure states and present some nice properties which indicate CE is a good entanglement measure. Finally, we point out the feasibility of extending these three concepts to mixed quantum states.

Abstract:We consider pure quantum states of N qubits and study the genuine N-qubit entanglement that is shared among all the N qubits. We introduce an information-theoretic measure of genuine N-qubit entanglement based on bipartite partitions. When N is an even number, this measure is presented in a simple formula, which depends only on the purities of the partially reduced density matrices. It can be easily computed theoretically and measured experimentally. When N is an odd number, the measure can also be obtained in principle.

Abstract:Monogamy of entanglement is an interesting property discovered recently in the context of multi-qubit entanglement. Here, we present a new kind of monogamous relations for pure quantum states of N qubits. By comparing the entanglement monogamy equality proposed by Coffman, Kundu, and Wootters, we prove that there exists a strict triangle relation for the three-qubit system. Since the entropy defines the entanglement of a pure state of a pair of quantum systems; therefore, using linear entropy, we conjecture that there is a polygon relation of many-qubit systems. We also formalize the general triangle relation for the three-qubit system.

Abstract:An entanglement measure, multiple entropy measures (MEMS) was proposed recently by using the geometric mean of partial entropies over all possible i -body combinations of the quantum system. In this work, we study the average subsystem von Neumann entropies of the linear cluster state and investigated the quantum entanglement of linear cluster states in terms of MEMS. Explicit results with specific particle numbers are calculated, and some analytical results are given for systems with arbitrary particle numbers. Compared with other example quantum states such as the GHZ states and W states, the linear cluster states are “more entangled” in terms of MEMS, namely their averaged entropies are larger than the GHZ states and W states.

Abstract:We show that for tripartite quantum pure states of qubits, all the kinds of entanglement in terms of stochastic local operations and classical communications classification are experimentally measurable by simple projective measurements, provided that four copies of the composite quantum system are available. In particular, the entanglement of reduced density matrices, even though they are mixed states, can be exactly determined in experiment. Concurrence of assistance is also shown to be measurable by introducing an interesting equation with explicit physical meanings.

Abstract:We give an explicit expression for the geometric measure of entanglement for three qubit states that are linear combinations of four orthogonal product states. It turns out that the geometric measure for these states has three different expressions depending on the range of definition in parameter space. Each expression of the measure has its own geometrically meaningful interpretation. Such an interpretation allows oneself to take one step toward a complete understanding for the general properties of the entanglement measure. The states that lie on joint surfaces separating different ranges of definition, designated as shared states, seem to have particularly interesting features. The properties of the shared states are fully discussed.

Abstract:Quantifying genuine entanglement is a key task in quantum information theory. We study the quantification of genuine multipartite entanglement for four-qubit systems. Based on the concurrence of nine different classes of four-qubit states, with each class being closed under stochastic local operation and classical communication, we construct a concurrence tetrahedron. Proper genuine four-qubit entanglement measure is presented by using the volume of the concurrence tetrahedron. For non genuine entangled pure states, the four-qubit entanglement measure classifies the bi-separable entanglement. We show that the concurrence tetrahedron based measure of genuine four-qubit entanglement is not equivalent to the genuine four-partite entanglement concurrence. We illustrate the advantages of the concurrence tetrahedron by detailed examples.
