Abstract:Rich Media Poor Democracy:Communication Politics in the Dubious Times is an important book on the political economy of communications. Robert W. McChesney ,the author, begins his discusses from the centralization on the American media field, and expands his analysis to the whole world. He reveals the paradox between the media and democracy. He argues that nowadays the American media are too centralized and has become a profit-seeking business. With the continuous growing of the commercialization power, the media has become an antidemocratic power, which in the end deviates from the intention of the media.
