Land Intensive Use in City Development Zones Based on Analytic Hierarchy Process: A Case Study of Jiangsu Province

Abstract:It is of important theoretic and practical significance to analyze the level of land intensive use in the city development zones.Land intensive use includes four aspects:land intensive use of different types,land use with the optimized construction,superior synthesizing benefits of land use,excellent realization of land use in the region.Based on methods of analytic hierarchy process(AHP) and taking developing districts of 18 cities in Jiangsu Province as examples,twenty-one indexes are chosen to analyze the level of land intensive use,including land input,land output,land use construction and sustainable land use.Four grade systems of land input and output indexes of land intensive use are set up.There are evident disparities in land use intensivity of developing districts in Jiangsu Province and the economic benefits of land output display an obvious trend in land intensive use.The levels of land intensive use are divided into five grades: super intensive(the land supply is in shortage),intensive(the land supply is in an equilibrium state),less intensive(the land supply is equilibrium in a certain period),not intensive(the land supply is equilibrium in a certain period),and lower intensive(there are some idle land).Generally speaking,land intensive use is different in Jiangsu Province.Levels of land intensive use of city developing districts in the south part are evidently higher than in other regions.Based on the above analysis,some related suggestions about how to increase the level of land intensive use are proposed.
