An empirical research on efficiency of port container terminal collection and distribution system from the perspective of supply chain system

Abstract:As port is an important link of international economy and trade,port competitiveness is an indicator of the national power.Port efficiency,especially the efficiency of port container terminal collection and distribution system is an important part of port competitiveness.In this paper,we consider port container terminal collection and distribution system as a whole and empirically study its technical efficiency,pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency from the perspective of supply chain system.The results indicate that the technical and scale efficiency of the port container terminal collection and distribution systems is mostly low and the pure technical efficiency is relatively high;the reasons are also explored.
