Abstract:In this work, we establish the existence of nontrivial nonnegative periodic solutions for a class of degenerate parabolic equations with nonlocal terms. The key is the using of Moser’s iteration technique and the theory of the Leray–Schauder degree.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate a class of doubly degenerate parabolic equations with periodic sources subject to homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions. By means of the theory of Leray-Schauder degree, we establish the existence of non-trivial nonnegative periodic solutions. The key step is how to establish the uniform bound estimate of approximate solutions, for this purpose we will make use of Moser iteration and some results of the eigenvalue problem for the p-Laplacian equation.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate positive solutions of the degenerate parabolic equation not in divergence form: ut=upΔu+auq−bur, subject to the null Dirichlet boundary condition. We at first discuss the existence and nonexistence of global solutions to the problem, and then study the large time behavior for the global solutions. When the positive source dominates the model, we prove that the global solutions uniformly tend to the positive steady state of the problem as t→∞. In particular, we establish the uniform asymptotic profiles for the decay solutions when the problem is governed by the nonlinear diffusion or absorption.

Abstract:We consider a degenerate parabolic equation with logistic periodic sources. First, we establish the existence of nontrivial nonnegative periodic solutions by monotonicity method. Then by using Moser iterative technique and the method of contradiction, we establish the boundedness estimate of nonnegative periodic solutions, by which we show that the attraction of nontrivial nonnegative periodic solutions, that is, all non-trivial nonnegative solutions of the initial boundary value problem, will lie between a minimal and a maximal nonnegative nontrivial periodic solutions, as time tends to infinity.

Abstract:The present paper discusses the existence of weak solutions to the initial and boundary value problem of a class of degenerate parabolic equations in non-divergence form. The authors applied the method of parabolic regularization to prove the existence of weak solutions to the problem. By carefully analyzing the approximate solutions to the problem, the authors made a sequence of estimates to the solutions and proved the weak convergence of the approximation solution sequence and hence testified the existence of weak solutions.

Abstract:This paper reports results on the existence and characterization of nonnegative stationary solutions (including the weak sense) of a spatial one-dimensional degenerate parabolic equations. The characterization of stationary solutions given in this paper refers to the enumeration of those that exist and the presentation of solution information such as the profile and asymptotic behavior of each of them. Due to the influence of terms derived from the degeneracy of the equations, it is not easy to classify and characterize the existence of stationary solutions of the equations considered in this paper. These results are obtained by using dynamical systems theory and geometric approaches (in particular, Poincaré compactification). In addition, an application of the results obtained in this paper is given. The results of the characterization of nonnegative weak stationary solutions of the spatial one-dimensional porous medium equation with special nonlinear terms are shown. These can be obtained by carefully using transformations known from previous studies.
