To Clarify the Orientation and the Road of the General Education According to the University Idea

Abstract:The current social situation of China has exerted a job-seeking orientation on the undergraduate teaching of universities.It brings an idea-crisis to contemporary universities,and puts the education into the highlight of the public attention.There are two different concepts of general education,which has led the Chinese reformation of undergraduate teaching to a crossroads.From the standpoint of the university idea,this paper disputes the utilitarian concept of the education and suggests that the education should provide the basis for the students' growing up in their independent thinking and spiritual taste and intuition.And without the basis,the creative talents of moral integrity cannot be formed in universities.
