Abstract:We consider random fractal sets with random recursive constructions in which the contracting vectors have different distributions at different stages. We prove that the random fractal associated with such construction has a constant packing dimension almost surely and give an explicit formula to determine it.

Abstract:Intermediate dimensions are a class of new fractal dimensions which provide a spectrum of dimensions interpolating between the Hausdorff and box-counting dimensions. In this paper, we study the intermediate dimensions of Moran sets. Moran sets may be regarded as a generalization of self-similar sets generated by using different class of similar mappings at each level with unfixed translations, and this causes the lack of ergodic properties on Moran set. Therefore, the intermediate dimensions do not necessarily exist, and we calculate the upper and lower intermediate dimensions of Moran sets. In particular, we obtain a simplified intermediate dimension formula for homogeneous Moran sets. Moreover, we study the visualization of the upper intermediate dimensions for some homogeneous Moran sets, and we show that their upper intermediate dimensions are given by Mobius transformations.

Geometric Lattice Structure of Covering-Based Rough Sets Through Matroids

Abstract:Covering-based rough set theory is a useful tool to deal with inexact, uncertain, or vague knowledge in information systems. Geometric lattice has been widely used in diverse fields, especially search algorithm design, which plays an important role in covering reductions. In this paper, we construct three geometric lattice structures of covering-based rough sets through matroids and study the relationship among them. First, a geometric lattice structure of covering-based rough sets is established through the transversal matroid induced by a covering. Then its characteristics, such as atoms, modular elements, and modular pairs, are studied. We also construct a one-to-one correspondence between this type of geometric lattices and transversal matroids in the context of covering-based rough sets. Second, we present three sufficient and necessary conditions for two types of covering upper approximation operators to be closure operators of matroids. We also represent two types of matroids through closure axioms and then obtain two geometric lattice structures of covering-based rough sets. Third, we study the relationship among these three geometric lattice structures. Some core concepts such as reducible elements in covering-based rough sets are investigated with geometric lattices. In a word, this work points out an interesting view, namely, geometric lattice, to study covering-based rough sets.

Abstract:Summary. We compute the Hausdorff dimension and the packing dimension of subsets of Moran fractals with prescribed mixed group frequencies. For example, if E denotes the set of real numbers x in [0, 1] for which the group of digits 1, 2, 3, 4 in the decimal expansion of x occurs with relative frequency t_1 ∈ [0, 1] and the group of digits 0, 1, 2, 8, 9 in the decimal expansion of x occurs with relative frequency t_2 ∈ [0, 1] , then our results shows that dim_ H E = dim_ P E = - 1/log 10 log ( t^t_1_1 t^t_2_2 (1 - t_1)^1-t_1 (1 - t_2)^1-t_2/2^t_13^1-t_1) , where dim H denotes the Hausdorff dimension and dim P denotes the packing dimension. Observe that the two groups of digits with prescribed frequencies, namely 1, 2, 3, 4 and 0, 1, 2, 8, 9, are mixed , i.e. they are not disjoint. Previous work [LD, O1, V] has investigated the non-mixed case. In this paper we investigate the more difficult problem of finding the Hausdorff dimension and packing dimension of subsets of Moran fractals with prescribed mixed group frequencies.
Dimension theory of Non-Autonomous iterated function systems

Abstract:In the paper, we define a class of new fractals named ``non-autonomous attractors", which are the generalization of classic Moran sets and attractors of iterated function systems. Simply to say, we replace the similarity mappings by contractive mappings and remove the separation assumption in Moran structure. We give the dimension estimate for non-autonomous attractors. Furthermore, we study a class of non-autonomous attractors, named `` non-autonomous affine sets or affine sets'', where the contractions are restricted to affine mappings. To study the dimension theory of such fractals, we define two critical values $s^*$ and $s_A$, and the upper box-counting dimensions and Hausdorff dimensions of non-autonomous affine sets are bounded above by $s^*$ and $s_A$, respectively. Unlike self-affine fractals where $s^*=s_A$, we always have that $s^*\geq s_A$, and the inequality may strictly hold. Under certain conditions, we obtain that the upper box-counting dimensions and Hausdorff dimensions of non-autonomous affine sets may equal to $s^*$ and $s_A$, respectively. In particular, we study non-autonomous affine sets with random translations, and the Hausdorff dimensions of such sets equal to $s_A$ almost surely.

Abstract:In the paper, we study the generalized $q$-dimensions of measures supported by nonautonomous attractors, which are the generalization of classic Moran sets and attractors of iterated function systems. First, we estimate the generalized $q$-dimensions of measures supported on nonautonomous attractors, and we provide dimension formulas for generalized $q$-dimensions of measures supported on nonautonomous similar attractor under certain separation conditions. Next, we investigate the generalized $q$-dimensions of measures supported on nonautonomous affine sets and obtain the upper bounds. Finally, we study two variations of nonautonomous affine sets and obtain their dimension formulas for $q\geq 1 $.

Abstract:We investigate the class of m -hypergraphs whose substructures with l elements have more than s m -element subsets that do not form a hyperedge. The class will have the free amalgamation property if s is small, but it does not if s is large. We find the boundary of s . Suppose the class has the free amalgamation property. In the case , we demonstrate that the random structure for the class has continuum-many automorphisms with a single orbit. The situation differs from the case of Henson graphs. In the case of generic hypergraphs constructed by Hrushovski's method using a predimension function, we also demonstrate that they have no automorphisms with a single orbit.

Abstract:Consider a complex projective space with its Fubini-Study metric. We study certain one parameter deformations of this metric on the complement of an arrangement (= finite union of hyperplanes) whose Levi-Civita connection is of Dunkl type. Interesting examples are obtained from the arrangements defined by finite complex reflection groups. We determine a parameter interval for which the metric is locally of Fubini-Study type, flat, or complex-hyperbolic. We find a finite subset of this interval for which we get a complete orbifold or at least a Zariski open subset thereof, and we analyze these cases in some detail (e.g., we determine their orbifold fundamental group). In this set-up, the principal results of Deligne-Mostow on the Lauricella hypergeometric differential equation and work of Barthel-Hirzebruch-Höfer on arrangements in a projective plane appear as special cases. Along the way we produce in a geometric manner all the pairs of complex reflection groups with isomorphic discriminants, thus providing a uniform approach to work of Orlik-Solomon.

Abstract:This paper is to study cotorsion pairs and abelian model structures on some Morita rings \ $\Lambda =\left(\begin{smallmatrix} A & {}_AN_B {}_BM_A & B\end{smallmatrix}\right)$. From cotorsion pairs $(\mathcal U, \mathcal X)$ and $(\mathcal V, \mathcal Y)$, respectively in $A$-Mod and $B$-Mod, one constructs 4 kinds of cotorsion pairs in $\Lambda$-Mod. There even exists an algebra $\Lambda$ such that the four cotorsion pairs above are pairwise different. The heredity and completeness of these cotorsion pairs are studied. The problem of identifications, namely, when the first two cotorsion pairs are the same, and when the second two cotorsion pairs are the same, is investigated. Various model structures on $\Lambda$\mbox{-}{\rm Mod} are obtained, by explicitly giving the corresponding Hovey triples and Quillen's homotopy categories. In particular, cofibrantly generated Hovey triples, and the Gillespie-Hovey triples induced by compatible generalized projective (respectively, injective) cotorsion pairs, are explicitly contructed.
