Abstract:A new diterpenoid was isolated from the ethereal extract of the dried leaves of Rabdosia weisiensis and its chemical structure shown to be ent-1β,7β, 11α-triacetoxy-3α,6β-dihydroxykaur- 16-en- 15-one on the basis of detailed spectroscopic analysis and comparison with related compounds. Trichorabdal A, a known component, was also isolated from this plant and its 13C NMR data assigned.

Abstract:Two new diterpenoids having an ent-kaurene skeleton, rosthornin A(1) and B(2), have been isolated from the ethereal extract of the dried leaves of Rabdosia rosthornii. Their chemical structures have been suggested as ent- 11α-acetoxy-13β,19-dihydroxykaur-16-en-15-one (1)and ent-11α,19-diacetoxy -7β,13β-dihydroxykaur -16-en-15-one (2) respectively on the basis of biogenesis, detailed spectroscopic analysis (COSY) and chemical conversions.

Abstract:Fifteen components were isolated from the dry leaves of Rabdosia macrophylla. Six of them were found to be kaurene type diterpenoids and shown to have antitumor activities or cytotoxicity. This paper reports the structure of a new kaurane type diterpenoid named rabdophyllin H. This compound showed cytotoxicity against QGY- 7703 Heptoma cells.

Abstract:From the leaves of Rabdosia coetsa (Buch.-Ham. ex D. Don) Hara, a new kauranoic acid, coetsanoic acid, along with eight known compounds, dihydrorabdokunmin C, rabdokunmin C, albopilosin A, macrocalyxin C, N-2'-hydroxy-eicosanoyl ( henicosanoyl-hexacosanoyl)-4-hydroxytrans-8-sphingenine, ursolic acid, 2 alpha, 3 beta-dihydroxyursolic acid and daucosterol has been isolated. Its structure was established as 7 alpha, 12 alpha, 14 beta-tri-hydroxy-15-oxo-ent-kauran-18-carboxy acid by spec troscopic means. The ceramides were isolated from the plants of Rabdosia for the first time.

Abstract:Two new C(20)-oxygenated ent-kaurene diterpenoids, taibaihenryiins A (1) and B (2), along with five known compounds, shikokianin (3), longikaurin D, 2 alpha -hydroxyursolic acid, longikaurin F, and lasiodin, were isolated from the EtOH extract of the leaves and tender branches of Isodon henryi (HEMSL.) KUDO. The structures of the new compounds were determined as 11 alpha -acetoxy-7,20-epoxy-1 alpha ,6 beta ,7 beta -trihydroxy-ent-kaur-16-en-15-one (1) and 7,20-epoxy-3 beta ,6 beta ,7 beta ,11 alpha -tetrahydroxy-ent-kaur-16-en-15-one (2) on the basis of detailed, spectroscopic analyses.

Abstract:Two ent-kaurene type diterpenoids, diterpenoids A (1) and B (2) were isolated from the Chinese herb Caryopteris terniflora and defined as ent-7beta, 11alpha,14-trihydroxy-18-aldehyde-11beta-20-epoxy-kaur-16-en15-one and ent-7beta,14-dihydroxy-11alpha-methoxy-18-aldehyde-11beta-20-epoxy-kaur-16-en-15-one respectively. Compounds 1 and 2 showed significant antibacterial and antitumour activity.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To study the chemical constituents of aerial part of Rabdosia serra.METHOD:The compounds were isolated by extraction, coloum chromatography over silica gel and ODS, and preparative HPLC. Their structures were identified by various spectroscopic methods including MS, IR, 1D and 2D NMR data.RESULT:Six compounds were isolated from R. serra and were characterized as ent-1alpha, 7alpha, 14beta, 20-tetrahydroxy-11, 16-kauradien-15-one (1), kamebakaurin (2), dihydrokamebakaurin (3), rabdoinflexin A (4), daucosterol( 5), and beta-sitosterol (6).CONCLUSION:Compound 1 is a new compound, and coumpound 3 was obtained from this plant for the first time.

Abstract:Three new rearranged ent-kaurane-type diterpenoids (1-3) and seven new ent-kaurane-type diterpenoids (4-10) have been isolated from the liverwort Jungennannia atrobrunnea. Their structures were determined by extensive spectroscopic techniques and X-ray crystallographic analysis. The absolute configurations of these compounds were clarified by CD spectroscopic studies. Compound 1 is the first example of a rearranged ent-kaurane diterpenoid possessing a peroxide bridge.

Their structures were determined on the basis of spectral data.

Abstract:Phytochemical investigation of the above-ground parts of Siegesbeckia pubescens yielded 25 diterpenoids, including five new ent-pimarane diterpenoids (1-3, 11, and 12) and four new ent-kaurane diterpenoids (13-16). The structures and relative configurations of the new compounds were elucidated by comprehensive spectroscopic analysis and by comparison of their NMR data with those of related compounds. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis confirmed the structures of 8, 13, and 14. Seven of these diterpenoids were evaluated for cytotoxic activity against HSC-T6, HeLa, and B16 cell lines. Compounds 11 and 14 exhibited moderate cytotoxicity.

Abstract:Nine new ent-kaurane diterpenoids, isoscoparins D-L (1-9), and an artificial product, the acetonide of rabdoloxin A (10), along with 16 known analogues (11-26), were isolated from the leaves of Isodon scoparius. The new structures were determined by ID and 2D NMR spectroscopic analysis. Selected compounds were evaluated for their cytotoxicity against NB4, A549, PC-3, MCF-7, and SH-SY5Y cell lines.
