Abstract:The molecule of the title compound, C22H22N2, has a center of symmetry, and two bulky indolizinyl groups are situated on opposite sides of the C=C double bond, resulting in an E configuration. The two indolizinyl groups and the C=C double bond are in the same plane, forming a fully extended conjugated system. There are pi-pi stacking interactions between neighboring molecules related by a center of symmetry.
