Abstract:We prove the famous Faber intersection number conjecture and other more general results by using a recursion formula of n-point functions for intersection numbers on moduli spaces of curves. We also present some vanishing properties of Gromov-Witten invariants.

Abstract:Using the celebrated Witten-Kontsevich theorem, we prove a recursive formula of the $n$-point functions for intersection numbers on moduli spaces of curves. It has been used to prove the Faber intersection number conjecture and motivated us to find some conjectural vanishing identities for Gromov-Witten invariants. The latter has been proved recently by X. Liu and R. Pandharipande. We also give a combinatorial interpretation of $n$-point functions in terms of summation over binary trees.

Abstract:We establish the asymptotic expansion of certain integrals of [Formula: see text] classes on moduli spaces of curves [Formula: see text], when either the [Formula: see text] or [Formula: see text] goes to infinity. Our main tools are cut-join type recursion formulae from the Witten–Kontsevich theorem, as well as asymptotics of solutions to the first Painlevé equation. We also raise a conjecture on large genus asymptotics for [Formula: see text]-point functions of [Formula: see text] classes and partially verify the positivity of coefficients in generalized Mirzakhani’s formula of higher Weil–Petersson volumes.

Abstract:In this paper, we study effective recursion formulae for computing intersection numbers of mixed psi and kappa classes on moduli spaces of curves. By using the celebrated Witten-Kontsevich theorem, we generalize Mulase-Safnuk form of Mirzakhani's recursion and prove a recursion formula of higher Weil-Petersson volumes. We also present recursion formulae to compute intersection pairings in the tautological rings of moduli spaces of curves.

Abstract:We outline a proof of a remarkable conjecture of Labastida-Mari{\~n}o-Ooguri-Vafa about certain new algebraic structures of quantum link invariants and the integrality of infinite family of new topological invariants. Our method is based on the cut-and-join analysis and a special rational ring characterizing the structure of the Chern-Simons partition function.

Abstract:We present a series of results we obtained recently about the intersection numbers of tautological classes on moduli spaces of curves, including a simple formula of the n-point functions for Witten's tau classes, an effective recursion formula to compute higher Weil-Petersson volumes, several new recursion formulae of intersection numbers and our proof of a conjecture of Itzykson and Zuber concerning denominators of intersection numbers. We also present Virasoro and KdV properties of generating functions of general mixed kappa and psi intersections.

Abstract:Due to the orbifold singularities, the intersection numbers on the moduli space of curves $\bar{\sM}_{g,n}$ are in general rational numbers rather than integers. We study the properties of the denominators of these intersection numbers and their relationship with the orders of automorphism groups of stable curves. In particular, we prove a conjecture of Itzykson and Zuber. We also present a conjectural multinomial type numerical property for Hodge integrals.

Abstract:Dumortier and Roussarie proposed a conjecture in their paper (2009, Discrete Con. Dyn. Sys., 2,723-781): For any \begin{document}$ q\in {\mathbb{N}} $\end{document} , the Abelian integrals \begin{document}$ J_{2j+1}(h) = \int_{\gamma_h}x^{2j-1}\,\mathrm dy $\end{document} , \begin{document}$ j = 0, 1, 2, \cdots, q $\end{document} , form a strict Chebyshev system on intervals \begin{document}$ h\in (0, \frac{1}{2}] $\end{document} , where \begin{document}$ \gamma_h = \{(x, y)| \mathrm e^{-2y}(y+\frac{1}{2}-x^2) = h\} $\end{document} . If this conjecture holds, then they obtain the precise upper bound of the number of limit cycles that appear near a slow-fast Hopf point of any codimension. In the present paper we develop a method to estimate the number of zeros of Abelian integrals and prove this conjecture.

Abstract:We study genus 1 Gromov-Witten invariants of Fano complete intersections in the projective spaces. Among other things, we show a reconstruction theorem for genus 1 invariants with only ambient insertions, and compute the genus 1 invariants with 1 marked point. For cubic hypersurfaces of dimension $\neq 4$ and odd dimensional intersections of two quadrics, we obtain a complete reconstruction theorem for genus 1 Gromov-Witten invariants.

Abstract:In this paper we study certain vanishing identities for Gromov-Witten invariants conjectured by K. Liu and H. Xu. We will prove their conjectures when the summation range is big compared to the genus. In such cases, we actually obtained vanishing identities which are stronger than their conjectures. We also prove these conjectures in low genus cases.

Abstract:Feng-Yun-Zhang have proved a function field analogue of the arithmetic Siegel-Weil formula, relating special cycles on moduli spaces of unitary shtukas to higher derivatives of Eisenstein series. We prove an extension of this formula in a low-dimensional case, and deduce from it a Gross-Zagier style formula expressing intersection multiplicities of cycles in terms of higher derivatives of base-change $L$-functions.

We also briefly describe a very general recursive phenomenon in the intersection theory of moduli spaces of curves. Abstract: We prove a conjectural vanishing result for Gopakumar--Vafa invariants of quintic 3-folds, referred to as Castelnuovo bound in the literature. Furthermore, we calculate Gopakumar--Vafa invariants at Castelnuovo bound $g=\frac{d^2+5d+10}{10}$. As physicists showed, these two properties allow us to compute all Gromov--Witten invariants of quintic 3-folds up to genus $53$, provided that the conifold gap condition holds. We also give a bound for the genus of any one-dimensional closed subscheme in a smooth hypersurface of degree $\leq 5$, which may be of independent interest.
